I'm putting a 351W into my Ranger. I have everything already figured out, I'm just wondering if there are any 351 specific Ranger headers or will 302 headers work?
I know of a guy who put a 351 in his Ranger, but I don't know how he decided what headers to use. So sorry. I'm sure someone knows ... sooner or later, they'll read your post.
I bought a set of headers from Total Performance in Clinton Township, MI. There phone #is 810-463-3673.
My Ranger is a 1987, had to cut about a 1/4 inch off top of frame rail on the passanger side, but they fit good otherwise. I bought alot of parts for my conversion, and need alot more.
Hope this is some help.
Thanks. I've seen the Total Performance name on websites from other Ranger 351 conversions but TP doesn't seem to have a website at all. At any rate, the conversion is on hold for a while, I need to put the 88 351 into my 79 since its 351 spun a bearing.
I had a ranger with a Windsor.. well, ok it was an 84 Bronco chassis with an 83 Ranger body... anyway - 302 and 351 Windsor headers are the same. I ran Mustang shortie headers on my truck and they worked out great. My current truck has a windsor with Headman headers on it, and they are tucked real close to the block so I can't see why they wouldn't work in your Ranger. You may need to use your cordless Milwaukee Sawzall in places, but it should work. (If you don't own a cordless sawzall this is the perfect excuse to get one )
