My friendly dealer was found to be not so friendly after the head gasket issues. My trucks has been black flagged as a mod and I have lost my powertrain warranty due to the removal of the DPF. Word to the wise, FoMoCo has just mandated that any mod to any powertrain component will void out the warranty of your powertrain. This means even adding an aftermarket intake. FoMoCo, has stated that any removal of any exhaust component installed from factory will also void your warranty. Good luck fellas with the mods
Havent gotten to it yet. I've been goin rounds with the dealer about this warranty deal. I knew that if i removed my DPF i could very well void the warranty but the way they went about it was wrong. They flagged the truck after the last warranty deal and they didnt tell me about it. I went in for an oil change and service and the tech had said "I see your trucks been flagged by the dealer, whats that about" So straight to the service managers office I went. They tried to void my entire warranty, were they should only have voided my powertrain warranty. Im waiting for the Ford Tech to call me and let me know what the investigation yeilds.
That sucks, but hey...at least you don't have to worry about if they will warranty it anymore....You can mod the **** out of it now.....and tell us how the all the aftermarket parts all work...Dude...lets see some pics of your truck....
I can't believe that I'm reading this. It's like 2003 all over again when the 6.0 was first introduced, and has now become a subject of ridicule by many.
It's just a matter of time before we all will forced to take our Diesel vehicle for a mandatory emissions testing.
I personally did not play with my $50k investment because: a) the performace was beyond my expextation b) the fuel economy is a significant improvement and well worth the added $5k additional investment and c) I paid extra to have a Diesel with a 5/100 warranty.
After 4.5 years of ownership I'm still satisfies with my investment and will continue to own it for a long time.

What needs to be done is two price points... One with a warranty and one without... The only issue with this is you need to pick your truck off the lot first, so that you are not getting some POS with all the broke parts in it.
Lets see, 50k for a truck with a 5y/100k warranty
or a 35-38k truck with no warranty... HUMMMM What one is going to sell like hotcakes...
How many of you buy the extra warranty on a DVD player at walmart?
Elensburg... hummm I am driving thru there every weekend heading home... Might have to cut out early one day and say HI! Can you believe its quicker to go that way back to bend then I-5...
