Foil delete

Actually take the "doghouse" (rectangular part on the valve cover) off and turn it 180* so the elbow is back by the firewall. Then rotate the elbow so it's pointed in the direction you want the hose to go (I ran mine up over the brake booster and back down). I also used a hose coupler to connect my hose to the stock elbow. Made it real simple. I ran mine down & back along the frame to the rear axle where I vented it on the passenger side by the exhaust. There are a number of ways to do this, so look around and see what suits you. Check http://www.7point3.com for lot more info on this and other mods...

It is for looks and some say that you can hear the turbo whistle a little better with the insulation off.
Ford started installing the foil insulation after the '99 model year in response to customer complaints that the turbo whistle was too loud for their liking. They also switched to the stock (now) configuration turbo wheel from one that is similar in design to the Wicked Wheel that you always read about here.

Just finished the foil delete, looks so much better now with that ugly foil off, now the 6637 is done along with it. That sounds so much better, the foil delete only took about an hour took for ever to get the tube loose from the boots. The modding has begun Even got the Fiance in on the modding & changing the oil, now thats the life right there, great truck, great woman, fun modding

I really wanted too but I didn't have it bought I like the looks of that though I think I would paint mine more like Kris's (strokin7.3) Doesn't look that dirty under there to me, I was going to do the CCV mod but I didn't get the 3 1/2 section for 4" pipe. Hopin next weekend to do that and the Zoodad. I have to say thanks to Izzy351 he really helped me out alot on this with my questions and everyone else that helped! Always can count on FTE!

My wife gets out there and helps too. She not only encourages the mods but she will get dirty with me. Last summer she scraped and painted the frame rails by herself. The underside of the truck looks brand new.
Good to hear that it went well and you're having fun together.
