    anytime. i would have never found that link, or actually thought of using a roll pin. It doesnt sound like it will be all that hard to push a roll in into place, just taking a good amount of time making sure i don't seat it too deep. I havn't tried the head bolt thing yet, or really looked at it again but I doubt it would have cracked the deck since it was just decked and hasn't even had any load on the engine, but you never know so i'll have to pull the bolts on each side and check it out.

    Thanks for the help. I had always thought a 750 was always too big of a carb for most engines even though everyone wants to run one. This helps confirm that. And the HP and Tq peaks are right where i want them. That way the truck will go down the track at around 5k and drop to its torque peak under load to around 4k. I think this may work out great. Now if the girl can learn to drive it lol

    I think the FT oil pan would be a good choice.

    According to my software, your motor will make 376hp @ 5000rpm, and 426ft-lbs @ 4000rpm, with stock heads and a 600cfm carburetor. With ported heads and a 600cfm carb, it would make 413hp @ 5500rpm, and 445ft-lbs @ 4500rpm. With stock heads and the 750cfm carb, it would make 383hp @ 5000rpm, and 431ft-lbs @ 4000rpm. With ported heads and the 750cfm carb, it would make 423hp @ 5500rpm, and 452ft-lbs @ 4500rpm.

    This is on 11 year old software, so keep in mind that these numbers won't be the most accurate in the world. But it might provide a good indication of where to put your effort. I'd say run the 600cfm carburetor, vacuum secondary, and put your time into head porting. Be sure you run a good large air cleaner too.
