I haven't done the foil delete either. I'm thinking about repalcing the IC tubes alltogether. Plus Spearco 6.0 IC. I need to do the IC anyhow, why not replace the IC tubes as well? Thats my thinking anyhow..Country
So I got to loosen all four clamps on the boots and then it will slip right out also to get the glue off after putting brake cleaner &WD-40 could I use a brush grinder to remove the glue or just a brush on a drill.? I am starting to get addicted. Started with the 6637, now the foil, thinking of a Zoodad while I am at it.
Thanksa bunch guys I always love the response at FTE and helpful advise... Thanks guys
Nope. I was surprised that they didn't say anything but they didn't. The technician said that he liked my intake set up and that is all that was said. The service manager even went out of his way to come out to the truck to tell me that my warranty was good until the end of October and that if I needed anything to give him a call.
I ought to drive it up there and see what they say. I had to replece my alternator a while back, and I was thinking of having them do it, but I was also thinking they'd freak if they saw the mods. I have the 6637 though, so I wonder if that would make a difference over the AFE. I would've bet the moon that they'd pooh-pooh the CCV mod. Have you done that? Don't see it listed...

I just loosened the clamps on the tube side of each boot and slid a flat blade screwdriver around under the boot. Came right off...

If there's nothing wrong with them, why replace 'em? You could always polish or paint them like some of the guys here have done. I've been thinking about just polishing them myself. I like the shiny metal look...

No, I haven't done the CCV mod but need to as the reason for one of my leaks was oil leaking from two boots. They also replaced the HPOP o-rings and one other o-ring that was leaking.
The dealer is Gullo Ford in Conroe. I have the service manager's card in the truck in my book if you need his name.
I have bought a couple of cars there. Not sure if maybe that has anything to do with it. Probably not as if they can get out of fixing something then they will.

I loosened the bottom one and the top one and it didn't even budge. I was suprised that after having the K&N for a year it really wasn't dusty in the tube.
Thanks, Scott. That would be a hell of a drive from the north side of the metro-mess to Conroe for warranty work. Maybe I'll just be straight with them up here and see how they react. I'll pull the DP, though...

Loosen the clamp a whole bunch and see if you can slip a screwdriver between the boot & tube. Then slide it the whole way 'round and it should loosen up for you.
Some guys have done that, but I found the chemical solution worked well for me. If you look at the thread I posted earlier, you can see how mine came out with not too much trouble, and no glue boogers shootin' all over the place off the wire wheel.
I used a wire brush for some of the stubborn areas, but that was it.
I always thought my truck hardly whistled at all but last week when I was at the Ford dealer (warranty service) waiting for them to bring her around I heard this turbo whistling and I looked up and it was my truck coming up to me.
I was all puffy chested too.
Man, glad to see folks still getting warranty work. Especially with mods like yours. Puff up Scott.
Well I gotta go to town in the morning so I'll pick that up and get to work on getting that cleaned up. Probable should do the CCV while I have the intake tube off.
I will do that today while I am at it few elbows, clamps and a hose right? Just hook it to the port under the intake tube near the turbo and run it out the engine? Does it actually cut into the intake tube? Sorry for all the newbie questions just wanna make sure I get it all right.
