i never see any dodge owners up here, i guess they're smarter that chevy owners, they know better than to come up here and embarrace themselves.
or they're just scarred little pansies.

Well just about every single die hard Chevy fan that i've met were complete jerks, who couldn't even handle a good conversation. (with the exception of a few good chevy guys that i've met)
Then again, most Dodge people that i've met have been fairly cool headed and were very nice to me, even when we conversed the Dodge vs. Ford topic. It almost seems as if Ford and Dodge people are similar stereotype wise. I've heard both Ford, and Dodge people say, i'd buy a Dodge before a Chevy, or i'd buy a Ford before a Chevy.
I know I know, stereotypes are wrong, and everybody's different but hey, gimme a break... ;-)
Have a good one...

I would buy a Dodge if there were no Fords. I must confess though, there are some good Ch**y guys. One Ch**y guy fixed the rotting out firewall on my '84 Ford. He even quipped, "old Fords never die." And it was a Ch**y guy that custom painted my 77 F150 that I wish I still had:

I'll never buy a Dodge product. I hate to say it, but I'd by a Chevy first (and get therapy). I strayed from Ford once and it was a 78 Dodge truck that ended up having everything that could go wrong go wrong. That was years ago and it's still a painful leason. Plus, the Dodge guys are far bigger whiners than the Chevy guys.
Ken: You probably are right. I have heard about Dodges having many problems. I think Ch**ys probably are fairly reliable. Nonetheless, the late 70's dodge pickups with the fender beds sure look sweet (perhaps it would be ok with a Ford engine?). I often wonder what I would do if confronted with the choice of a Ford with an automatic tranny and a Ch**y with a manual--just glad I haven't had to face such a tough decision. I once took a beating selling a Pontiac Bonneville (wife's car that was all fixed up nice because I had put a lot of money into it) rather than give up my old '84 F150 that was getting pretty ratty and didn't have air conditioning. The practical thing to do would have been to keep the Bonneville, but I just couldn't bear the thought of life without a pickup or without the manual tranny.
I'm also with Ken, I would never in my wildest dreams buy a Dod&e. I would much rather have a chevy over a Dod&e. But that won't happen, because I will always have a Ford!
Well,,,,almost ex-dodge guy. Own a 1996,1500,clubcab,4x4,5.9,auto. 95,000 miles, that i'm trading in for a f-350. In all honesty, I NEVER had one bit of trouble with this truck. Watch the brake pads a little. 15,000-20,000 max on the front pads city driving, a trans leak that started at 85,000, and that's been it. It's been a real pleasure to own. Why didn't I order another Dodge????? Because retarded Chrylser has not changed ONE thing in 5 years. Do I want to drive the same truck for 10 years. NOPE!!!! Hope i have as good of luck with the Ford.
LAST EDITED ON 26-Jan-01 AT 05:02 PM (EST)[p]There's a big junkyard close to home here in Utah, and they have everything laid out in nice long rows, seperated by make and car/truck. It was really interesting how the ratio of makes was broken down! There was one and a half rows of Ford's (These are really long rows!), There was -no kidding- 13 rows of Dodge, and just less than 8 rows of Chevy. And then there was like 4 or 5 rows of everything else, Internationals, Isuzus, mazdas, toyotas; probably because there's not too many of these others around to begin with...
Now keep in mind, that I'm just talking trucks here!

If you want to stump a Dodge fan, ask them what happened to the tooling from the wide side pickup box that Dodge only used on the 58-60 Dodges( it was sold to Studebaker who used the exact box, with Studebaker stamped on the tailgate, for all the Champ pickups. Talk about a hideously UGLY setup, the Dodge box was wider than and did not match the Stude Lark-based cab, hence helping Stude hasten it's demise!)
well with all the arguments on aol, Ive come to the conclusion that all Chevy guys don't know a thing about their vehicles. That's why they fight ford guys, they don't realize they don't do anything but break down. Dodge guys are smarter they know they made a mistake in buying one so they don't like to brag about being stupid.

I must say, it would be a no-brainer for me to buy a Ch*vy over a D*dge! I'm still young, but I've been working in the automotive repair field for a while (along with a towing service) all I see is D*dge trucks getting towed to tranney shops. They are really TERRIBLE!!!!! The towing service I worked for had 5 wreckers, 4 of which be F-350's and the other being a medium-duty International. One thing I will give to Ch*vy's is that that are EXTREMELY cheap to build. If you want a budget Hi-Po motor you can't beat a Ch*vy. I've come to learn that any motor will make power, it's just that I feel that Ford's a designed better. I have 460 as my first rebuild/Hi-Po build and was quite easy and I learned TONS from it.

That may be true but it wasn't Dodge whinin' at the drags strips in the 60's.
Most of you apperently dont know to many Dodge car freaks!!
I am one and know lots more. Most of us prefer Ford trucks.PointBlank!
I know one guy who has hemi cars,a s/sa 70 Cuda that has never had nothin but a Ford truck.
As for newer vechicles,I dont like any of them
But Ford trucks and Chrysler cars, just another mans opinion.
PS,will agree on Dodge trucks. But the motors are great!
It's the rest that is not as good.
GM is the joke to me.
