clip for cluster

With all this talk about 14 pin connectors, I thought it would be simple cause the 14 pin connector has a wide model and year range. Ah well..

Mil1ion and Bill is right, it will take the 18 pin connector for 1973 and 1974 F-series with gauges only.
14 pin connector for idiot lights..., heck I took one off of a 1985 for you today at the wrecker.
They didnt charge me so it's ok.
I have modified the cluster back off of a 1983 E-series to work on my 1973 with gauges, but I used the 1973 speedometer, gauges, printed circut, and connector. wasnt really that hard either. There are small differences but nothing major that I noticed.
You can get the circut at Blue Oval Truck Parts for about $100.
You could also modify the trucks wiring to the newer connector, and a newer printed circut for a later truck, but that wouldnt be for the faint of heart. Although I could probably do it in a couple of hours.
And to answer Mil1ion....
The diagram of the instrument cluster on post four looks like the one out of my 1972 F-250. The 1974 econoline shared it's cluster with the 1972 pickup is all I can guess.
The Econoline, 1975-1991 design based on the 1973-1979 trucks.
The Econoline, 1969-1974, design based on the 1967-1972 trucks.
