First post ......so let me begin by saying "thanks ya'll" for all the incredible info I have been able to access here...it made buying my truck alot eaiser. An informed buyer holds the best hand when playing with a salesman.
I look forward everyday to my drive in my 06 Scab Lariat.
I live in Austin so I will try and make this meet-up if for no other reason than to put faces to names.
I also look forward to seeing your many modes........it should be like going to a showroom and being able to pick first hand the designs you like.
Trebor - thanks for "chiming in"! Don't be a stranger and I hope you can make it to our picnic this Saturday. Don't forget to bring a lunch for yourself!
Mansfield Dam Overlook Park
Saturday, Feb. 10th
11:00 until 1:00
Do you need map or other info about the "Dam" Fine event?
Will not need map.......been her 20+ years.......the first place my Texas friends took me was to Mansfeild dam park......oh how it has changed over the years.....still remember holding my breath when we would cross the dam ( before the bridge was built) with oncoming traffic...tight squeeze
FYI
been lurking here since last May.....bought my truck in November....finally joined site in January.
You mean you haven't read all 180+ posts? For shame...
Mine is coming along, she'll be happy to see another one. She's not too keen on getting "mounted" anymore since she busted her hip, but gets along very well with other pups besides that.
My dog is a little spazzy... very friendly, but spazzy. He's only 3. But like I said he will be leashed at all times.
Dude if your dog tries to hump my leg or chase me imma hurt him. .LMAO! I'm kidding.. I love dogs.. I'd bring mine but I had to put her down.. Heartworms got her

You just awoke an old memory about the dam: driving across it at 1 in the morning with open headers at 100+. '66 Mustang, 289, 6-pack, 310/425 cam, 12.5:1, C4. My friends told me the sound could be faintly heard in Westlake Hills along the river. Of course this was at a time when there were only two stores and no traffic signals between Johnson's Tradin' Post in Bee Cave and the Dam (~1968-9?). Couldn't do that now.

My travel plans have changed. I won't be able to respond to posts tomorrow - Wednesday night at the earliest. 'Til then, keep up the enthusiasm and the chat about our picnic. Try to stay on topic (I've abused that, I know).
Wow...13 pages...incredible how much interest this has generated.
Can't wait 'til Saturday. I'm thinking about bringing the R/C airplane and doing a little flying around. If I can get my console done in time, you guys might be the first to see it.
