Speaking from experience (I have actually flown on a plane), I can honestly tell you that the plane WILL NOT TAKE OFF until the stewardess has finished the pre-flight safety instructions. (Just as it cannot possibly land until all the trays have been put up, and the seats returned to their full upright positions.)

I'm still stuck on why it appears that sticking peanut butter on the roof of a dogs mouth might be a no-no. I always enjoyed myself.LOL

Ooh, ooh - another question. If all the engines on one wing were at full throttle, and all on the other side were turned off, would the plane go in circles - even though the conveyor would still be going straight?

Here you go:

A plane is standing on a runway that can move (like a giant conveyor
belt). This conveyor has a control system that tracks the plane's
speed and tunes the speed of the conveyor to be exactly the same (but
in the opposite direction).

Will the plane be able to take off?
Nope. No air moving over the wings. If the conveyer is moving exactly opposite the the airplane, then the airplane is standing still. No movement of the aircraft, no lift generated over the wings. The plane sits stationary with the engines running wide open burning tons of JP4..............

Remember, in order to get airborne the mix is this

Thrust + Lift must be greater than Weight + Drag. The conveyer basicly reduces thrust to zero.........therefore no lift.

It most certainly is a no-no. Because after the dog has licked herself into a frenzy, and is half insane from trying to get the peanut butter off of the roof of her mouth. She'll realize that you were just messing with her and then Sheba, oops, I mean the dog on AFV, will get even. Even if it takes her a couple of weeks, she will get even.

You're making the same mistake that everyone who approaches the problem at first makes. Go back and read the rest of the thread. The conveyor belt is there to fool you, and you fell for it hook, line & sinker - just like we all did.
