Will f-2 fenders etc fit an f-1? If not, is it because they are wider or is it something minor?

Yes, it is my understanding that F-2/F-3 fenders will fit an F-1 and vice versa. The only difference is the F-2/F-3 fender has a slightly larger wheel well opening for larger wheels and tires. I'm planning on using 48-50 F-1 fenders on my 48 F-3.

Even though the box in a f-2 is a bit longer then a f-1...the fenders I believe are the same. Running boards are not though. I don't think Henry Ford would of changed the fenders, what would of been the point?

On my 56, the fenders are the same for the longbed or shortbed...so should be for the F-1 and F-2...

THe F-2 or 3 rear fenders are different from the F-1. THey are slightly longer behind the wheel opening. The front fenders have a larger wheel opening, but will bolt on.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 06-Dec-02 AT 10:43 AM (EST)]Yep, they fit. My 49 F-1 is living proof. It has a F-1 fender on the right and a F-2 fender on the left. The F-2 has a bigger wheel opening. Any body got an extra left side F-1 fender they would part with? But then again, why should it bother me. You can only see one side of the truck at a time.

Barry,
Are the fenders the same width? I know approx. 2 1/2" of the fender well is inside the box - so did they compensate by narrowing the fenders, or is the overall width of the fenderwell greater? Thanks!

For you guys who may not know, F2/F3 boxes measure 54" inside where the F1's are 49".

I believe the rear fenders on the F-2/3's are narrower than the F-1. I took apart a F-2 and the fenders seemed narrower than the set of F-1's I have for my truck. They were definitely longer in the rear part also. If anyones interested, I have a set of F-1 running boards I want to sell. One side needs to be finish welded, the other is rot free. E-mail me off site at clussy38(No Email Addresses In Posts!) and I can send some pics.
