I have a 2000 X, and when I bought it, the owner had no idea of the code. So I looked at article after article... tore apart the WHOLE dash, and looked in all the places... NO CODE... I guess they didn't put printed codes on the '99 SuperDuty and 2000 X.. I wasn't about to pay $100 for some guy to tell me the code, so I looked into it more. I read a forum (not sure where) where someone used Microsoft Word to create a Macro to make all the possible codes... (sounds like something you wouldn't want to do, but you will be surprised) There are 5 buttons on the keypad. So you go into word create this macro that uses all the possible 5 digits numbers it could make with 0 1 2 3 4. It makes about a total of 10 sheets of codes at like 5 or so columns on each page.... TONS OF CODES. You then label the 1/2 key: 0 the 3/4 key: 1 and so on.... so now your keypad looks like 0 1 2 3 4... then you enter codes.... I did this for 10 min. and found my code. Some may be quicker, some may take longer... If anyone would like me to send them this word document with all the numbers, I would be glad too, also if anyone would like me to explain the procedure better I will. I'm so greatful that I found out about this way. I wish I would have remembered who it was so I could give the credit to that person, but it was probably 6 or 8 months ago. Good Luck!

I've not done the code sequence. I'd pull the dash apart and find the number before I did all that. It's on one of the modules under where the radio and lower dash is. Some say you can just remove the cup holder and see it. Luckily for me, I had the code when I bought the X.

You start from the beginning and just start entering. When the number you hit has the effect, you've hit the final number of whatever your code is. Imagine drawing a box around 5 numbers in the sequence where your number that had an effect is the last number. So if you take the sequence 1 2 2 3 3 4 4 5 5 6 6 7 7 8 8. If your door unlocks on the 2nd 4. Draw the box 1 2 [2 3 3 4 4] 5 5 6 6 7 7 8 8 so your code is 23344.

You need no previous mechanical knowledge, ANYONE can do this!
I recently got a 2000 Excursion and was able to pull the keypad code using FORScan. However I was unable to do so on my 07 F150. Apparently the codes were stored differently (GSM vs VSM or something like that, which I know nothing about or what any of it means, just what I think I recall in my skimming of threads).
So... VIOLA!! Spent about 10mins pokin in #'s and now have a code for the doors!! Maybe 1st third of the list, may try again after the sun goes down and see if there are any more, but super Thanks to the OP and to whomever broke it down to 5 # so it's easier to do!!
