    Wow! That is pretty amazing. Sorry for the late response, I've been trying to sell my car! I don't own a model 1873 but I'd sure love to, a shootable rifle isn't really anything less than 2 grand currently. I own plenty of old guns, Remington fieldmaster model 121's and old marlins. But nothing earlier than 1915. That really is a great story though. It seems like you made out!
