....i shined the flashlight into the trash bag holder toward the front left corner of the truck and saw a black box with a white sticker that was nearly impossible to read, and the print on the sticker was upside down.... <ALL smiles>
I drove my truck to the Ford dealer and they punched it up on the computer. Took 10 minutes and cost zero dollars. And i didn't have to break my neck getting under the dash board either. I guess my dealer is nicer then yers???

I have a 2000 X, and when I bought it, the owner had no idea of the code. So I looked at article after article... tore apart the WHOLE dash, and looked in all the places... NO CODE... I guess they didn't put printed codes on the '99 SuperDuty and 2000 X.. I wasn't about to pay $100 for some guy to tell me the code, so I looked into it more. I read a forum (not sure where) where someone used Microsoft Word to create a Macro to make all the possible codes... (sounds like something you wouldn't want to do, but you will be surprised) There are 5 buttons on the keypad. So you go into word create this macro that uses all the possible 5 digits numbers it could make with 0 1 2 3 4. It makes about a total of 10 sheets of codes at like 5 or so columns on each page.... TONS OF CODES. You then label the 1/2 key: 0 the 3/4 key: 1 and so on.... so now your keypad looks like 0 1 2 3 4... then you enter codes.... I did this for 10 min. and found my code. Some may be quicker, some may take longer... If anyone would like me to send them this word document with all the numbers, I would be glad too, also if anyone would like me to explain the procedure better I will. I'm so greatful that I found out about this way. I wish I would have remembered who it was so I could give the credit to that person, but it was probably 6 or 8 months ago. Good Luck!
Matt, if you wouldn't mind emailing the document to mike@wbodystore.com I would much appreciate it. It's certainly better than scooping all that money out to the dealer!
I have a 2001 X with the same problem. I sure would appreciate it if you could email the codes and any instructions on how to do this. This would great to not have to pay the dealer to find the code.
Email address is pato2004@comcast.net Thanks.
Great table. I printed page 1,, started at the bottom and within 30 attempts found the code. Never could find them on the Ex. chassy anywhere. Thanks a big one. Jim
