It should be there but if all else fails, you can take vehicle with reg to local dealer and for fee ( mine was $25) they can look it up for you.

keyless keypad code

Thank you all for this info. I found the RAP module on my 2003 Escape Limited on the floor in front of the center console, up against the firewall. Didn't have the 5 digit number on it. If I ever do find the number, I might be able to program it. gregjo1948

I'm always surprised people have to go through all this mess to get the code. What are people doing with their owners manual? Mine stays in the glove box along with all the little cards including the one with the door codes. When I sell it/trade it in it goes with the car.

1) The owners manual doesn't always have the code, mine doesn't
2) There is no little card with the number in the truck
3) There are no codes on the inside of the door frame, under the hood, tailgate or on the box under the dash
4) The owner wasn't nice enough to leave the codes in the truck when they sold it.

Hope this helps you understand why people want to know the door code.

1) I wasn't trying to say you were the problem I was just trying to say that I'm surprised that people do not hold on to the manuals and documentation that comes with the vehicle

2 There is a little card and it's easier to find than Sasquatch

given the vehicles stopped being made in 2005, its a little out there to think that everyone missing these numbers bought their truck new...and simply tossed out or lost the manual vs never having it come with the truck when buying used =)

and sure enough, this was the exact spot in my 04.

issue is, entering the code in the keypad didnt exactly trigger anything in the truck..lol

also nothing happens when i press teh first and last numbers at the same time just on their own (as i understand it its supposed to lock all the doors).

the keypad lights up when i press any key..so its clearly got power...thoughts?

I've always kept mine and the Ex i bought last year had what you just saw in the glove box. I'm just suggesting that before you jump through all the hoops take a look you may just have it in the glove box.

It's the last two buttons 7/8,9/0 that will lock the doors

The instructions for programming from the manual are:

1. enter the factory set code
2. press the 1/2 button within 5 seconds of step one
3. enter your personal 5 digit code

yar...code on the box from the video worked fine (when entered in properly)

inspection mirror, flashlight and a long socket extension (to pry the white insulation away) only tools required...no dash components needed to be removed (cept the fuse panel)

wrote the damn code on the door jam in a sharpie for future reference.
