The master code can't be changed, and the only way I know of to keep anyone from doing the string/number combination is to disconnect the pad wiring so it doesn't work.
Is there a way to enable a brute force lockout on the older models? I KNOW my code. I'd like to somehow make it so that someone can't come up and enter the 3000 number combination to open the door.
Some folks unplug the keypad from inside the door.

I don't think that's possible without reprogramming or replacing the BCM.
Ok let me throw a wrench into the mix! I have an 00 F350, that did not come with this option. I bought the truch several months ago and it didn't even have a radio! I bought the interior and doors from a wrecked 05. I replaced my old doors with the new ones.
Is there a way to get the master code for my doors without the truck they came from being available?

Yours may not work at all. I believe the keyless entry is controlled by the body control module which is hidden somewhere under the dash. Without swapping the BCM of the donor truck I don't think you're going to have any luck.
I'm no expert on these things though, so I may be wrong. But the code is typically found buried in the dash on that module. Paging @Toreador_Diesel, he may be able to help you out with his AE scan tool. He's in the Houston area.

The good Doctor is here
Based on the situation, I'm not sure we'll be able to get it, but we can definitely try!

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the door keypad JUST an input device, all the code storage and such should be in the BCM right, so it shouldn't matter what doors you have as long as they're wired correctly??

That's the way I would think it works. I had my BCM fail and had to replace it. Programing the BCM for the PATS system was required to have all the parts recognize each other. Nothing was done to the key pad.
After locking myself out of my Ex recently I figured it was time to figure out the keyless keypad code. I used the info from this thread and found the code in about 15 minutes using the matrix others have used. The bummer was that I knew my door lock actuator was weak, and once I had the code the assembly would move, but not enough to actually unlock. Replaced the actuator and good to go.
Thanks to all for the info on how to get this figured out, hopefully I won't have to pay a locksmith next time...
Mods Edit: This is the Excursion forum, however, you can find what you're looking for in the tech folder sticky thread listed in the READ FIRST thread list on the Excursion forum page, as I've posted just two posts above.
Thanks
