Got most of our motor parts yesterday and all looks good except we got the wrong valve spring retainers and locks. A call to summit and I have a return label and $48.00 later I am getting the correct ones on Saturday morning. The new deep trans pan and flex plate should be here today. The new torque converter came in on Monday and the new body panels came in on Tuesday.

Last night we tore the motor down (as far as we needed too) and swapped the cam. Tonight my uncle is coming over to help us make sure it is in correctly (degree). We will work Saturday and Sunday to get the motor & trans put back together and put in. I can't wait to hear it run now. Then we will work to get the new body panels in and see if we can't get some paint on it before Malvern.

Are either of you coming to Malvern?

OK. Enough with that non-sense... Got the motor and trans back in the truck. Didn't start it as it was too late and we can't make the neighbors mad.... Hope to get the body panels replaced and a coat of paint on by Malvern but who knows at this points.

Well I went to the Pierce pull tonight. The power pullers put on a great show. I seen several new trucks that I havent seen before. A couple Chevies an another orange Ford who pulled in the stock 4x4 modified. 3 Dodges pulled in the smokers class. The Smokin 7 truck won both off his classs if Im not mistaken. With Power trip an another Dodge taking second an third. That Smokin 7 truck really runs great an pulls down the track so smooth. We do need a few Fords in this class. I hate it to be so one sided. Im such the Ford guy Huh. That King Cobra truck really runs hard. I think he won both off his classes. I think it has a new owner this year. A couple off guys from Holdredge I believe. The Krekemier truck (an older sixties Ford) does well to. The Smeal truck Black Magic was awesome again. Thats the nicest seventies Ford truck I have ever seen. That nice blueoval in the front really sets it off. If there was a best looking truck category. Hed win hands down.

The track was perfect for truck pulling. A fast track that you could gain a lot off speed with out tearing your truck up. I think everybody had a night without breakage lets hope. Lot off 300 ft plus pulls. If either off you guys go to Malvern I want to here the story off the pull. I hate to miss everything. I hope you guys trucks are coming along. Hope to make it too Scribner or Wahoo or both. Id love to meet you guys. Good Luck

 

TJ (TUSTUD on the "other" board) must have had issues as he didn't make Malvern last night. He has the other blue old body Dodge. We made it and it turned out better then Red Oak. I will put up an update on my weekend a little later today on my site (YES DEERE...).

You think Joe's truck runs now??? That is a spare motor. His normal one (that broke) is much more wicked... I don't know if Joe sold the King Cobra or if he is just letting somebody different drive it. He was trying to sell it to us when we were up there. I think they smoked the clutch in it last night. With the improvements that happened we plan to hit Scribner and then Wahoo in a couple of weeks. We aren't the most exciting truck to watch but we are getting better and learning a lot.

 

Yeh I figured that. He won his class but it was pretty close. He usually blows everybody away an its not even close. Now I think TJ pullen in Pierce. It was blue an stack through the hood. Does this old bodystyle truck look a lot different? I think Joe sold that truck according to the announcer at the pull. Couple off guys from Holdredge,NE if I understood right. Thats a very,very,tough running truck an competes very well. Your gettin better. I knew you would. Those 2wd trucks are fun to watch. Good Luck

TJ's truck looks almost just like Power Trip but a different color of blue. From the sounds of the other board maybe he didn't make Pierce since you said that Smoken 7 and Power Trip were 2 of the 3 and DERAG said that Widicks was there.
