dash pad
There are about 10 or 12 studs attached to the dashpad that stick down thru the metal frame that the dashpad rests on. You have to remove the nuts from these studs and the pad lifts off. Easy enough said but the nuts are a little hard to get at. I removed the speedometer panel and glovebox for access.

Sparky hit the nail on the head. Try to remove the gauge cluster
and the glove box. Some are hard to get at. I would wear a long
sleeve shirt because the dash has some sharp edges.

dash pad
they told ya rite way but there are studs that point toward the front of truck.in other words as you are facing the dash.the lip that hangs down in the face of the dash has studs sticking out that face the fire wall of the truck and the very middle of the dash that has the piece between the insterments and the glove box has a stud also.
