Gotta open her up and get to 8 IIRC nuts attached to studs on the bottom of the pad. Instrument panel comes off, and glove box at least. Been a while. Maybe the outer ducts too.
There are a couple way in the corners a few easy ones and a couple in the center.
If you are asking about the 73 , it may have two more in it mine did. I think ford did that on 73s only maybe . Any how if you get the others loose and it won't move then look for them . I believe i found them about midway from each end to the center. All 4 of my 79s never had the extra two in them .
You will need to remove the instrument cluster, the radio and hvac controls and also the glove box liner to access the nuts that hold it on. Some have 8, others have 10, if they are factory installed. However, a PO may have had it off before and not put all the nuts back on, so, YMMV.
Removing all the above listed parts will make it alot easier for sure. Especially the 2 close together on each outer side that are hell to reach without all the stuff removed.
Be careful with the instrument cluster plug and the speedo cable (squeeze the white clip and pull the cable and white clip off together).
Push the little button on top of the head light switch assembly to remove the shaft, when it comes out the headlights will come on, so disconnect the battery. And use a small flat tip to remove the windshield wiper ****.
And remember the one on the middle tip of the dash pad, watch out for the sharp edges of the glove box when the liner is removed.
If you have a/c ducts be patient, but it will be faster to remove them too. If you have big monkey paws you better get a small handed friend to help ya, pizza buying time. lol
