"Has your 6.0 left you strandes?" (sigh) Has your (insert ANY vehicle here) left you stranded? You can ask that question about ANY vehicle and there will always be someone to say YES. We all know the documented problems that were most prevalent with the '03 and some '04's so what is the point of asking this question? Dodge, Chevy, Toyota, Nissan - go to any other forum and ask that question and you will have some people irate over their POS. It's unfortunate, but inevitable, that mass produced vehicles, or anything for that matter, will have "x" number that fail to work properly. I feel bad for anyone that has had problems, but am finding these type of threads tiring. Why can't we stick to more helpful threads with specific questions and answers from people willing to share their knowledge to help find solutions instead of just venting all time? My .02, feel free to flame if you feel the need...

I have an 2004 F-350 with 24,000 miles. One time it wouldn't start, wouldn't even turn over nothing like there was no battery. I called the 1-800 number on the warrenty card, they walked me through on how to shift it into neutral so I could start it. Turns out it was the switch on the transmission telling it it wasn't in park. Didn't get stranded though.
Had my 04 dually almost 3 years. One reflash - nothing else. Never left me stranded. I tow just over 13,000 pounds several times a year, including the Grape Vine out of Southern California. Has great power and tows like a mad dog!!!
My "05 F350 dually work truck left me stranded on1-16-06. The truck has 22K miles on it. It started loosing power, then died as I was traveling down a highway at 55 mph. It would not start when I got pulled off to the side of the road. I called roadside assistance. I got the truck hauled to the local dealer, where they replaced the fuel pressure regulator, fuel pressure sensor and a high pressure fitting. That is $900 worth of repairs, and it runs like it always did again. It was at the dealer for four days.
05 F350 6.0 SRW 30,000 miles, Not stranded but dealer just replaced egr cooler, complete drive shaft (vibration at 45mph) and lack of power since 5000 miles so turbo was replaced also.. All on warranty, In the shop for a week free loaner (new F150 gasser)OUCH Installed 60 hp tune at 5000 miles. Now runs as good with out the tune (hard to believe I know)and shifts better too.Great dealer !!
2003 F-550 6.0 Dump truck... 31,000 hard miles... One re-flash, one engine stall at 35 mph. NEVER BEEN STRANDED!!!
By far the best, fastest, and most economical light duty dump I have ever owned... My only complaint - Someday I'll trash the bench and get bucket seats....
