Clockwise is Auto. I have the user manual online, and found a nice picture of it on page 167, but no idea how to insert a picture here. Edited: Added pic to my Album. Check it out!
That diagram is deceiving, the arrow doesn't specify which way either are. Clockwise is lock. The arrow points in both directions but specifies nothing.
Yep, your right. Is deceiving. Have to realize the dot on the pic is on the right, so turning to the left counter clockwise would align the arrow, if one could still see their arror with the dot for Automatic. Geez, I wish that ink was permanent.
However, all is going good still with no more clicking or grinding after that hub rebuild!

Yea, it just has an arrow pointing both ways and it doesn't really secifiy anything.
after my hubs being permenantly locked, even in the auto position I replaced the hubs with the warn premium. Tell you what, I should have done this 3 years ago. It was easy, it took me 35 mins to do both sides.
What is embarassing is when you have the auto hubs that dont work, and you are trying to pull an idiot in a suburban out of the snow and you cant get them to lock!! Then you get out to turn them and you cant get them to turn either. Now thats embarassing.

That would be a rare occassion and you should know if your dials are turning. I wonder how my fix is going with the hole drilled in the dial etc, that I posted in here. Not enough feedback in here sometimes.
I hate auto hubs!!! I can't stress it enough! They always fail, they unlock all the time when trying to reverse out of stuck situations, they don't work when you need them most, etc. Never ever have I had a problem with manual hubs. Some of you know I take care of a fleet of trucks for my parents business all of which are 4x4. These trucks get used and abused. 4 wheel drive gets used daily with some of these trucks and we wouldn't have anything but manual hubs. The only way to go.
Well if I remember right the main reason people dislike the auto hubs is due to vacuum leaks in the hub. So by switching to a electric actuated hub you reduce the chance that you'll have issues since it would take more to disable the electric connection if built right.
