Thanks for the offer ford_truck_man. If we decide on Lake of the Ozarks I'll be taking you up on that offer.

Anyone have anymore ideas? Does everyone want to do this at The Lake of the Ozarks?

Here is the thing. If we can get everything together such as a date time and location I can submit it to FTE and possibly get some goodies from them to give away at the meet. There is also a chance that the big guy's of FTE would attend. This is all do to the National meet of FTE being canceled. So lets start working on this a little more.

The thing about having the head honchos come is that we need people to commit to it, and follow through. Lack of commitment is what made the downfall of the national meet.

I commit to nothing!

Sadly, I can't. I'm on call 24X7, and have to be ready to travel at a moments notice. If a meet happens, and I'm not away on a job, I'll definately show up (no matter the location, I can be anywhere in the state in ~5 hours). But if I have to work..that'll take precidence. I can't really ask for more time off then I have already asked for this year..

People in your situation just can't and that's life, but there should be plenty of us that can. At this time, I can't say whether I can due to many things in my life changing. It is also hard to plan that solid this far out, but many can plan for it when it is decided to be done.

Of course, I understand that. I was just giving my input on it all. I'd love to be there, and will certainly try to show up...but don't count my number ) =

Is seems that the majority are like me and cannot make a firm commitment that far in advance. If its set in stone...we can try to plan for it.

If you get the head honchos involved they want commitments and it will get cancelled (more than likely). I would suggest making this summer a state meeting for those who can attend and go from there. Just my opinion...which is not worth much.

I was not around last year, but looking at the pics of the "national rally" it does not seem like there was many people or trucks there. I see 1 (one) row of trucks at the show. One of those trucks was a car. There few that are there, are in pic after pic.

Any ideas on the dates yet? May 18th-21st are the supernationals in tennesse.

I agree, it is tough to commit to something that far down the road. I think for now we are better to worry about getting our little meets to grow, rather than try to get the big wigs out, we're still basically a small chapter as far as participation goes. At this time, there aren't that many chapters having big get togethers, as the chapters themselves are fairly new, and the Kansas chapter is a bit older than most. Here in Mo, we have had some serious setbacks that damaged participation, so it will take time to build back up. It woulkd be nice to be able to have something bigger, but for now we just will need to be happy with what we have, and go on from there. At least we have some fairly regular meets in St Louis, that's better than it was before. Hopefully we can expand from there. KC used to be where more actiivity was, so I'm sure it can be brought back.

Unfortunately, I live about the same distance from either one. Its a 5+ hour drive each way. That means a really long day or a hotel bill too. We will just have to see how it goes as far as myself attending events.

I totally agree though. Get the state organized and let it grow. Then see from there.

I have only been on the forum a few months. I have not been able to make my schedule match up yet. How many are attending the meets in St. Louis generally?

My full intent with my previous post wast to just maybe get some more people interested and excited about having a state meet not to suggest that we could plan a huge meet with tons of people there. We are still growing and things seem better than when I first started visiting the Mo chapter but it will take time to build things up more. I don't want to leave anyone out and think with enough planning and support from other chapter members we could have some kind of state meet this spring or summer and that maybe a few freebies and some acknowledgement from the site will help generate some excitement and interest.

There are several things that are posted in the cancelled thread, but them attending is not a requirement. They want firm commitments if they attend. They did not say by when though. (slightly confusing since they cancelled the big one like 6 months in advance)

The last two would apply to every meet no matter where.

5. Chapter events we are unable to attend will get some t-shirts and bumper stickers to give away.

6. We will give our support to chapter events, whether we attend or not, by promoting their events.

Any other locations you guys (and gals) can think of? I don't live up there, so I am no help at all. Anyone have dates in mind yet?

As long as I have a little bit of notice and it is on the week-end you can count me in.

I am very interested in getting involved in any activity in the KC area.
I've talked with the Kansas Chapter and they have some of there meeting in the KC area so I will go to those and maybe get some support across the lines to Mo.

If anyone has any ideas on anything I can do or help with to rebuild the KC area activity that was here let me know. I really enjoy this site and want to support it as much as I can. Its hard to find a good web site anymore that you don't get solicited by things your not interested in. CUDOS TO ALL OF YOU!!!!

Anymore interest in this or does everyone think we should let the chapter grow a little more before we attempt this? If people would still like to try we should start throwing around some dates. I'm up for anything, lets just make sure we keep moving in the right direction. We still have time to think about it maybe a few smaller meets in different areas might work better we just need people willing to set them up.
