My grandpa has a 94 Ford Ranger XLT with the original 4.0 and about 200k miles. The truck is like it just came off the showroom floor. He has several body modifications on it that make it look came from a movie.
I drive a 94 Ford Explorer XL 4WD with the 4.0L Cologne V6. It currently has nearly 270k miles on it, but it still runs and from the hell I put it through, I'm surprised it's still driveable. Good ol' Ford quality doing it's job.
The transmission is an A4LD, with 2nd only engaging if you barely apply throttle and creep along while the guys on bicycles pass you, pointing and laughing. lmao. But after all night of researching and reading a complete rebuild of the same transmission, I finally figured out that it's one of two problems. Now I just have to wait till this weekend to figure which of the two it is.
Oh yeah. I'm from Advance, MO. It's about 2-3 hours south of STL, 30 miles south of Cape Girardeau, and 30 miles north Dexter.
Looking forward to the conversations with everyone. Finally some people that like Fords as much as I do.

4LCologneMan, c'mon in and make yourself at home. If you've been doing any reading at all in the Missouri Chapter forum, I'm sure you realize the cast of character's that are in here are good folk and while our sense of humor might be considered quirky, we don't bite. Slmann, our chapter leader, keeps us all in line so don't be skeered to post often.
Geez Lane! You live, literally, in the middle of nowhere.
Welcome to the 'zone.' Beware, cause these guys will find every flaw in your personality/character and rip you to shreads... Heh, it's fun though, no worries.
Not really the middle of nowhere. Just right in between two larger cities. lol
I mean...Come on...We have our own McDonald's, BP station, and even a Dollar General! lmao
I halfway like this town though. Most of the people in it I can't stand cuz they're snobs, but some are really good people. And I don't really have to worry about a lot of traffic.

Ryan
Ryan? You have flaws in your personality/character? The only one I know about is your alleged addiction to "rattle cans". Other than that, you're like the teflon man of the chapter........but I'm look'n...
Of course I'm into four wheelin'. Who isn't? But I won't take my truck off-road. Can't take the pressure. lol. Just put new radius arm bushings on it. Plan on overhauling it sooner or later. Nine times out of ten, later...Much later. lol
If only I knew everyone's flaws...I'd be selling them to you guys in private so you could make fun of eachother. lol
Welcome to the group 4LCologneMan. Good thing you live in a small town since it takes a while to shift into second. lol
Sorry I'm late, I was out of town on business. Had to attend a Food Show. So much for the diet! Lost about three weeks worth of dieting in three hours. Sure was good though!! Sorry you missed it Scott!! They had some cookies that were almost as good as mine. ROFL
Too bad I didn't see CodyJoe on the road. I'd have liked to have shown him up. Hahahahahahaha I made great time. Gotta love NOS on a diesel!!
Hi, 6L. I know what the dieting thing is like. I think I blew mine last night. lol.
tcbo, I plan on sticking around until you guys come at me with pitchforks and torches. That's when you'll actually see a big man outrun that diesel with nitrous. lol
