That's not bad. I paid $65 for Mapsend. I have found that Mapsend is a little more up to date as far as streets. It shows Kansas Speedway where as the others don't. It was kinda neat to see all the old roads that where there, but when you look around it's one big parking lot. lol
The old 3D Topo Quads are the most detailed for the off road stuff I do. Even the old Street Atlas had some of the off road stuff. The newer stuff, Street Atlas 2005 and Topo 5.0 are more up to date on the road stuff but are lacking in the areas I like to go. 4.0 is just right for what I do.
Best thing I can tell you is to start reading about trails in Colorado and Utah. I'll send you some links for some story's. My favorites are the ones my friend from Denver wrote. My web site has pictures from a few of them. Colorado trails with names like Tincup Pass, Hancock Pass, Pomeroy Lake, Mt. Antero, Grizly Lake, Iron Chest, Mary Murphy Mine, Mosquito Pass, Family Fun Trial, Glacier Ridge, Red Cone, Black Bear, Schofield Pass, Georgia Pass, Pearl Pass, Radical Hill, Holy Cross to name just a few. The in Utah there's Dragon, Robbers Roost, The Flint, Poison Spring canyon, Gemini Bridges, Hole-In-The Rock, Hotel Rock, Elephant Hill, Arch Canyon, and many others with and with out names.
I just started mapping the trails last year. I had a Delorme GPS that I could not do the tracks in a draw file. So I don't have a lot of red lines......yet. And what I have won't do you much good unless you have the Mountian states region 4.0 cd. Look over the links I will send you and we can talk at the next
gtg.
Cool. The MapSend TOPO came with trails.com. Has the whole USA on it. It does list some off road trails in CO and Utah. Lots of state parks also. I'll check the links.
