just had the recall done on mine the flash program was screwed up and the dealer had to call ford enginers to fix there messed up program took a week to get my truck back
The letter says " Your engine may be releasing air pollutants which exceeds California standards ............These standards and regulations also apply in Massachusetts , Maine , New York , and Vermont " .
So does it mean anything if you don't live in one of these States ? ? ?
Do I need to have this recall done...should I have this done ???
Opinions are welcome .
TIA

The EBP sensors/wiring and some calibrations have been the root cause of many driveability issues. You would not only be keeping your truck's emissions compliance up to date but you might have a better running truck when it's done. In my opinion, all of the trucks that I have reprogrammed recently with the latest calibration run really well.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
If you had the recall 05E15 performed before it was temporarily suspended, you will receive a letter from Ford to return for another PCM recalibration. The reason the recall was suspended was due to an error in the calibration.

Mine doesn't have any thing to say about different states either. The problem I have with it is my truck is running good right now and am not sure I want to trust the new programing. Would like to hear from some one who has had it done. I am getting 20+ highway and 17.4 all around so don't want to mess that up. It has been steadily improving over the last 10K miles.
Received my letter Thursday and the dealer called me to see if I had it and wanted to come in on Friday. So, had it done Friday and now will see if it makes any difference. My mpg has been really good as the mileage goes up; 19 around here and that is with having an occassional heavy foot - oops is what I say to may wife.

On August 5th the truck had died . The problem was no communication to the PCM due to a bad EBP Sensor .
I'll be calling the dealer soon for this new recall .
My truck died with no warning so I'll be going in today. And I'm only getting 15-16 mpg, with no mods. Keeping my fingers crossed that something will improve my mileage.
Got my notice today. Is there a reflash associated with this?
Yes. I was actually viewing some of the code earlier in the week...From what I've seen this flash is A-Ok; one of the best I've seen come out of FMC for the 6.0. Looks like there is a little more fuel available in this file too, so you should probably see a tad bit of extra power. Shifts quite well, too.
