post from another forum; being a Ford Master Tech and Diesel Specialist You could not GIVE me a 6.0L!!!!!!!!!! Edited by Admin And I will guarantee you the Banks didn't do that to that engine, It added to the problems Ford is having with that issue, and as an easy way out for Ford and the dealers they are very quick to blame aftermarket perf. stuff. I know all too well. I have been doing headgaskets and engines on Edited by Admin since they came out.
I am the only Banks dealer in Kansas and they have a great product. I have had no concerns with any Banks stuff I have sold or installed with the exception of one instance which was a deal on here with Stunya. I sold him a Powerpack for his V10 and they didn't have the program for his PCM and it took them a bit to get all that worked out, but they did get it all taken care of. Great company and products.

Shane I understand that YOU have great experience, however it is well document in this forum that the bad out number the good, the point of all this is that...exactly.
They are not consistent in the administration of customer satisfaction.....customers need consistency.
A companies overall credibility relies on that……IMO
I agree. I buy all of my Banks stuff through a buddy that is a Banks dealer. He even says their customer service could be better. He does agree that their stuff is not the problem though.
They could prove it in this case. There is no need for speculation regarding whether or not the Banks gear was malfunctioning. Banks has a test bench and could easily have asked for the equipment to be shipped for a system test.
Yea...but they blew it by ignoring the customer (sand king) and opened themselves up to a law suit. People could avoid so much, by just communicating and taking responsibility for what damage, costs, and life-wasting energy they pull from society. Like you said..they could have tested the equipment. Instead, they chose to act like a company with something to hide. The only way sandking will get compensated, is to file a complaint.
I'd sue Ford for not replacing it under warranty, breaching the contract, make a complaint under the Calif. lemon law (that's where he lives) on the truck, and for violating that Federal Act regarding warranties and modifications...AND banks for fraudulent misrepresentation, and a product that damaged or contributed to the damage of sandking's motor, among other things. I'd ask for Punitive damages over and above too.
Sorry To Hear About Your Problems With Your 6.0l Psd. As Most People Know, Ford Has Had Some Injector Issues. The Reason For The Engine Damage Was The Cylinders Were Over Fueled, Right?. If The 6gun Tuner Was Solely Responsible For The Engine Failure, Then Why Were Only 2 Cylinders Over Fueled. Fuel Boxes And Programmers Increase Horsepower And Torque By Increasing The Amout Of Fuel Delivered And The Timing When Injected, Thererfore The Performance Changes Are Made To Every Cylinder.it Sounds Like Also The Speed Loader Failed To Cut Back The Fuel When The Temps Soared, sounds Like Your Caughtin The Middle Of 2 Big Companys Who May Both Be Partially At Fault. You're Also Going To Have To Accept A Certain Degree Of Responsibility For Taking Your Truck To The Dealer With The Performance Mods Still In Tact(warranty Ignorance). I Wish You All The Luck, As I Went Thru This Back In November, And Fortunately My Dealer And Ford Replaced My Engine!
Hey Guys... Got my truck back about a week ago, but I still plan on pursuing the matter with an attorney. Been trying to connect with one I was recommended but still haven't been able to talk with him personally, yet. Hey tiredlr, you mentioned you had this problem before ??? What year is your truck and what exactly happened ??? As far as removing the mods prior to taking into Ford, as mentioned before, you cannot remove those mods cause Ford has ways of knowing: ie computer, hole left in manifold, etc. Plus I was assured by Banks that it would not affect the warranty. Anyway, will keep you all updated.... SandKing
SAND KING
MY TRUCK IS A 2004 F250 PSD, THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED LAST NOVEMBER..STARTED OUT JUST LIKE YOURS...SOUNDED LIKE A LIFTER, THEY REPLACED AN INJECTOR, AND RETURNED THE TRUCK. I TOOK IT BACK AGAIN AS THE NOISE WAS STILL THERE.
THE NOISE WAS MORE PROMINENT UPON START UP , THEN QUIETED AT FIRST. THE LONGER I DROVE IT THE NOISIER IT GOT. THE ENGINE WAS TORN DOWN AND THE CYLINDER WITH THE BAD INJECTOR WAS SCORED. TOP OF PISTON SHOWED EXCESSIVE HEAT. MY DEALER WENT TO BAT FOR ME AS THEY ALSO HAD A TRUCK IN THE SERV. DEPT THAT AN OWNER TRADED IN BECAUSE OF A PROBLEM..POSSIBLE HYDRO LOCK..OVER FUELING, BENT PUSH ROD NAD DAMAGED ROCKER ARM.....................GOOD LUCK, TIREDLR
Does anyone know of a FORD dealership that will install the Banks system? If no, then ask yourself why not? If the Banks system was all that it's marketed to be, wouldn't FORD jump on board and make profit from installing the unit? Save your money and stay stock.
2003PSDf2504x4: It's your choice to stay stock. I chose to add the Edge, Intake, Exhaust and SCT and the performance is great. My truck tows better, is faster and runs cooler.

Several dealers do just like several will install Bully Dog, Edge SCMT or any of the others. The issue is not the product. All tuners will have issues somewhere within their product line that do not perform as tested. The issues King Ranch had was taking the truck in with the tuner installed and Ford not backing their product because of it which is typical. In addition Banks allegedly lied during the sale about the warranty. I agree that Banks probably did say they would help.
As for staying stock, you might want to drive one of these with a tuner. You would never say that again and sound so unintelligent.
Tim, Banks called me the other day for an intercooler sale they are having. My guy that kept calling me back has resigned because he found a better job. Go figure.
On the soap box for a minute and not speaking of anyone in particular...
The reality is to install something other than a Ford product on your truck you are taking a risk. I am willing to take it and I take full responsibility and am fully knowledable about the risk.
I fly airlplanes. The book says one thing the actual tolerances are another. Should I have a problem and I did not follow the book I have gone outside what the manufacturer (Pratt in this case) has guaranteed and certified. With equipment such as the SD etc we are outside what the normal consumer can expect when running the vehicle with aftermarket MODS.
My point is the mods push the equipment to areas that Ford is not willing to warrant or pay the liability. Does this mean the equipment is deficient or cannot handle it? NO! It means that stuff happens and as a result they are not willing to take the risk.
I can forsee a problem that is whith my truck. I have chosen to muddy the issue with the MOD. Who is to blame? I dont think I should put the blame on anyone but myself. Anyone who beleives what someone is trying to sell 100% and doesnt question the liability or truthfullness is not being honest or thinking for themselves.
It is a very distinct ticking that comes from the top end/ valve train. A friend of mine once likened it to the sound of a card in spokes of a bicycle wheel. It is a different frequency, but similar.
