If anything Sand Ranch, your experience has forced me to believe that i really don't need that trick intercooler and high ram afterall.

Best of luck to you, your family and the King......Ranch that is.

That intercooler would be nice. The stock one is well known to not be big enough even for a stock truck. Someone else will build one sooner or later. I will still probably get one from Banks because I am not very good at waiting.

Oh i hear ya.
I did buy the monster exhaust but they lost me to the SC1704 tuning wise.
A guy on dieselstop said the intercooler lowered the EGT by 200-250 degrees.
I really want it but not from them under the current situation.
I'm waiting until Banks steps up and puts pressure on the Ford rep or if they don't (most likely) i'll wait till someone else fills the void.

I hear you. I used to be a Banks advocate. I still have not recieved the level of poor service that Sand king or Tim has recieved but recently their technical department gave me bad advice about what to disconnect when taking my truck into the shop. They were wrong. I will probably buy the Banks intercooler since everythign else I have is Banks but it is a lot of money.

What do i need to disconnect when sending my truck back to the dealer? I've got the six gun and speed loader as well as the exhaust also.

The six gun and speed loader. The exhaust is ok. There is another guy on this forum who lost his engine and didn't disconnect the six gun before taking it in to the dealer. They blamed it for the engine and denied his warranty. They can't do anything about an exhaust which is a little bigger in diameter...that would be a stretch.
my 2 cents.

IMAP sensor, computer control wires to and from unit ford computer and just pull off the spade connectors on the stock wiring harness that supplies the unit with power. The Ford computer will sense any voltage irregularities and this evidently causes a drop in voltage.

All of the stories I have read on this site about Ford not standing behind its product is rather alarming. I just filled in my JD Power form (they sent me a dollar to complete it) I fried them.

My issue with your statement....I still do not know of one that has not been resolved...granted it could happen a bit quicker, that notwithstanding they do work with the customer. I do not know of every problem that has been encountered by customers on SD's or X's…but here in FTE, my reading has lead me to believe they will work it out sooner or later….

I have had many issues as well and the Ford Engineer is going to examine my vehicle tomorrow. Point is Ford throws up every and any roadblock possible dragging the process out but we will see what happens tomorrow and beyond. I am a consumer that is forced to buy american vehicles in this class because unless I want a Unimog the alternatives are nil. My vehicle will be in the shop for most likely a couple of days again and this is just to find out what is wrong so, yes I am put out and I dare say you would be as well if it were your 4 month old truck costing 43 grand plus mods that Ford had and you were stuck in a Tarus!

Okay please tell me that you DID remove a tuner and unhook batteries to clear codes before you brought it to Ford?

Have you been running a 6-gun?

Hdfatboy99,you really dont need to disconnect anything when you bring it in for service ect..they would know by the hole on the left side of your manifold and it does'nt affect your warranty unless the 6-gun is the cause of the problem, like in my case they claim it did and I bought a $10k motor for my baby..and if you removed it ect. they still know if you had an after market on ..they go in your trucks comp. and there are codes, and they can go back approx. the last 200 start-ups on your truck, and if you have them cleared like some after market devices/chip ect.they would no due to the codes..good luck with yours..sandking

You have to unplug all of it if they are reflashing. I would advise it for any service including changing the oil because if there is a flash available they will try to flash it. I took mine in after 2 starts and they did not know the Banks had been hooked up. I stated I put it in and planned to turn it on as soon as another issue has been cleared up and they said okay. SandKing I am sorry about your situation but my dealer is mod friendly anyway.
