Had a call from the dealer that I bought the truck from saying that there is a recall on the tranny, when I asked him what it was he said it was an internal prob. Have not seen anything about a thrqueshift recall here! Any one have any info?

Which tranny do you have, auto or manual?

dzs422 - what kind of slipping problem did you have. My 05 will occasionally slip in reverse when backing up, feels like a slipping clutch. Have you experienced this??
My 05 has hesitated when shifting from R to D.. since basically day 1... most of the time, its upon startup.. but it was reflashed, and same problem. Sometimes it waits 2 seconds... sometimes it might be 5 seconds... The dealer said that its a recall on the pressure valve only for 04's, and the part is backordered due to so many. That if I could wait, my 05 would be fixed eventually.. Well, it has a ticket so I'm not concerned about warranty. I also have installed the TS 135 since and right now the **** is turned all the way up, but I did the correct learning process, and haven't dogged it out. I've been driving the same way as it was stock...
2005 torqueshift auto f-350 started slipping in reverse plowing snow with truck ,when started ,also have friend with 2 2005 f-350s doing same thing recalls just started showing up 12-27-04 at local dealer still waiting for reverse gear assembly parts

certain 2004 model f-250/350/450/super duty econoline excursion with a torqshift ford will replace the reverse planatary gear set build dates for this are march 8 through june 24 symptoms are harsh /slipping shiftsand or
harsh/delaid foward/reverse engagments and if symptoms are ingnorad it could cause total failure of trans
i have a 2005 and also blew a hole in the side with 3700 miles or so. dealer thinks a casting may have broken off inside. i have a new tranny fresh off the assembly line. it took a week to get it fixed and that was with some hootin and screamin. this forum is the first time i've seen someone else with this issue.
I think the slow shifts from R to D are indicative of the computer controlled tranny....
I've heard that MOST do it....
Mine has done it if I rush it while still rolling backwards,
but still seems fine after 44k+ miles...

That might be true on some Torqueshift tranny's. KW5413 is right there is a recall on certain model year TS tranny's. I have a 2004, 05/04 truck build, 04/28/04 engine build date. Three weeks ago my engine warning light went on for three days. All seemed fine, no rough engine idle, noise, smoke or shifting problems. I checked fluids, loose wires, all was fine. Then light went out. Then came on again a week later for a couple days. Then, this tuesday, light comes on again and I go to get on freeway and the truck will not go any faster than 60 MPH, RPM will not pass 3k and my foot is all the way down. It seems tranny is stuck in third gear or fourth? I back off the pedal a bit and torque converter finally kicks in to fifth gear and truck will go up to desired speed. I take the truck to the dealer and there is an Oasis report for my truck. The planetary gears need to be replaced, they say it's certain models. So anyone reading, if your truck is between 04/08 to 06/28 I would take it to the dealer before the tranny goes out.

That is exactly true. It's hard on a transmission to do that, so they simply don't let you. The original programming on the early 6.0s was set to the satisfaction of the transmission engineers - I think it enforced a 1 or 2 second time between directions. They got a lot of complaints, because "everyone knows" if there's a lag between directions it means your trans is on the way out! I guess Ford got tired of trying to explain how that wasn't what was going on, and so they beat up the transmission engineers until they agreed to a compromise, because the time went down on one of those flashes (back in the days when Ford was still listing what changed in each flash...) I think it's something like half a second now. Not long enough to feel broken to most people, but long enough to minimize transmission damage from quick direction reversal.
Frobozz - Did you mean to say 2005 build year? I have a 2005 build date 8/4 and my tranny slips sometimes when backing up. Also, there is a lag or "floating" time delay between 1st and 2nd gear. Are there any recalls on the early 2005's???
No, I meant when they first rolled them out in late 2002, then eventually changed the programming on them.
It sounds like yours may have an actual problem. What does "slips while backing up" mean? You're backing up and the revs increase without the truck going faster? What does "lag between 1st and 2nd" mean? Do your revs increase without the truck speeding up and then it shifts to 2nd and they drop? Or do you mean it stays in 1st too long before shifting to 2nd?
