Midwest meeting

The newly formed Illinois Chapter is wanting to try to have a Midwest meeting. They were hoping for Indiana to participate, but at this time it looks to be Iowa and Illinois. Heres the thread: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...14#post2133314

here's the latest from the Illinois chapter, if anyone is interested...

We are still in the planning stages with the Indiana Chapter Members. The location so far would be U.S. 41 Drag Strip in Indiana. Maybe in June or July.

For an Iowa/Illinois/Missouri meeting what month best suits everyone? June - July?

Midwest Meeting

Hello all.............The Illinois Chapter is looking forward to reaching out and establishing solid ties with our neighboring states.

Is a date in June or July best for the Iowa chapter members? The Indiana chapter is having difficulty selecting a Chapter Leader so that plan maybe on hold.

Is the Keokuk or Quad cities area the best location? Years ago I attended a show in Des Monies. It was at a fairgrounds as I recall. Is there a state park or local park that would serve as a good location?

This could be a simple picnic type of thing or maybe a weekend event?

Thanks for your time, Fastronald - Illinois Chapter Leader.

Hi Fastronald, my vote would be Quad cities area, sort of a central local between Iowa and Ill... There is always something goin on down in QC in the summer... The truck show at the I80 truckstop would be a good weekend, daisey dukes is nearby too

Hey taz, how long have you been driving? My wife used to be manager of the Burns Brothers that was down the road there, and back then she could make the Daisy Dukes look sweet... just didn't wear them to work...

It might work as good there, as the Missouri chapter needs to get it together, or we won't have to worry about it, hasn't been much response or activity there.

I stopped at that I80 Ts once a month for about 1 1/2 years when I was running OTR.. I have a buddy that lives down in Bettendorf and we would meet there for supper on my trips home once in a while we would wander over to DD's

the only problem with the truck show is most of it falls on thur, and Fri, and that place gets really crowded but even though DesMoines is closer to me I vote for the QC area also because of the centralized location for the 2 states, although Keokuk might not be bad either for the people in MO. to maybe get involved also.

My vote is for the QC area since I live there. I-80 Truck Stop, I think my truck could make it that far.

Quad Cities or Keokuk is a good idea I think. Keokuk would allow folks from MO to participate. June or July would be good as well. The last weekend of June is bad for me though.
