I am a manufacturing engineer for a small machine shop. I pretty much machine prototypes from a customers design or idea and once the prtotypes are approved I then come up with a process to produce the most parts in the quickest amount of time on the machinery that is available for the job. If we don't have the right machinery for the job I then have to do a cost analysis to see if buying a new machine tool will pay for itself and if so how long will it take. Once the process is approved I fixture up all the machinery and cross my fingers that all the work I did on the CAD/CAM system really works on the machines. A lot of number crunching mixed with a lot of hands on. So far so good.

Papermaker in an "old" paper mill in Jay Maine, for now. As more paper is made overseas and the economy shrinks, the "job" isn't that stable at present. Will stay away from the manufacturing sector next time around.
