I work for Eden Township in Lancaster County, PA.
I am the township Roadmaster (yes, its actually a title). Im responsible for building and maintaining the roads in the township. I also have to service and repair all the equipment, build/repair bridges, boss the crew around, and operate the heavy equipment.
some people think its bad with one boss, well, I have 1800! and they all think they know what needs done better than I do. oh well.
Im also a certified welder, part time mechanic at my buddy's auto shop, used to haul bulk propane, worked at a steel plant building big steel bridges, had a stint as a cnc machinist (yuk).
I live in Amish country, Approx 70% of the township's population are amish, and thier horseshoes tear up the roads faster than i can fix them. gotta love the job security.

i worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for 4 years, logging industry went bad and got layed off. I had difficulty finding work so i decided to go back to school. I am currently taking pre-med classes at the University of Saskatchewan.
I'm the general manager for a furnace manufacturers warehouse/sales office. A far cry from my mechanical engineering degree, but at least that comes in handy messing with my toys.
"Auto Consultant.... People tell me what kind of vehicle they want, and I locate, and negotiate on behalf of my clients. Basically doing all the leg work. Some people hate doing it, others don't have the time. I love doing it.
Thats my story, and I'm stickin to it."
I would love to get into something like that. I think it would be great. I already have lots of the locals (mostly the younger people looking for their first car) asking me about older models of things. That got started becuz I dated a guy that knew where just about every old car and truck was in a tri county area.
Currently I am a Telecommunications Assistant which is fancy for deaf phone operator. Short explanation, deaf people have a phone called a TTY or a TDD (you may see these terms around a toll free number on the back of credit cards or official letters like social security letters or insurance letters.) The deaf, hard of hearing, or speach impaired community uses these phones, they call me, and I place a phone call for them to a hearing person. Everything they type to me, I read word for word and everything the hearing person says, I type word for word. You can imagine the speed of typing required for that job becuz we cannot interrupt the hearing person 500 times to ask them to repeat themselves. So, if you ever get a strange call and there's someone asking "have you received a relay call before?" don't hang up and please please don't ask if we're selling something becuz I promise you, we're not...

Welder/fitter, Certified. Desperatly looking for a new job!!!! 5.5 years at a place that they don't appreciate you kind of kills ya. I'm only 21, need to find somthing.
I'm am Independant Paintless Dent Removal Technician. I do work for car dealers and wholesalers. I also retired from the volunteer fire service last year after 28 years of service
Honestly there's no telling if it was me or not. We're all identified by agent numbers and the numbers start with different ones depending on which call center you get. We have 7 csd call centers and take calls for 28 states. I've handled Alaska, California, Washington, Nevada, Utah, Tx, Ok, Va, Illinois, Indiana, and Ny that I can think of right now but my center is in Tx. It's a good service but usually it's a thankless job. The customers have a tendancy to cuss us and "fire" us which they cannot do and we cannot say a thing to them becuz we are technically only a breathing translating telephone wire. Someday, they'll come out with the technology and relay will no longer need live personell but until then, we are continuing to grow.
Thanx!

I'm a grocery store manager. Not what I dreamed of doing, but its steady work (y'all like to eat, dont't ya?) and great benefits and I'm not tied to a desk. In my free time I'm a vol. fireman, a railroad buff/photographer and play with my 12 pound attack cat.
