Initial indicators are that I am now getting 16-16.5 city driving. I measured by filling to the same spot in the filler neck and dividing gallons into miles since last fillup. This was running totally stock with the EGR plugged in and the latest flash for me 3U7A-12A650-FTE. This included one run to show my tail pipe to a truck with "Hemi" written on it.
Preevious I was getting 14-15 city with Predator 65HP.
No, Ford seems to be keeping information on this flash under wraps. You might want to take it in and tell them you have a "hesitation" in lower gears in tow/haul mode. See if they reflash it. I have a good rapport with the diesel tech where I go. He said there was a new flash out. Said it didn't "take" on all of the 6.0s. I didn't get a lot of detail. He didn't have it.
I guess I'll call Prestige Ford today and see if they have anything interesting to talk about.
Was thinking of getting a price to add remote start to my Ford alarm system anyway since Adams brags about his so much. Kind of a Christmas present from me to me. If you know what I mean.
O Tay...Just spoke with my favorite Service Advisor and he confirmed that the new flash has improvements for '04 as well as the '03 engine builds...no details but implied that it is a little more vauable to the '03.
Taking mine in the Monday of Thanksgiving week.
Guess if I had programmer I would deprogram and replug that pesky EGR, so to speak, this weekend and get a weeks worth of innocent miles on the beast.
Now...any thoughts as to what impact this new flash may have on reloading programmers?
A friend of mine's uncle's, cousin's, brother-in-law is curious?
I heard from a tech that "there was some fuel strategy improvements but that was all i could drag out of the person i talked to" regarding the latest flash.
SBV45, Get him in a headlock and squeeze some more info out of him. I would really like to know what was addressed. Its not on that Flatrate board yet.
The tech I talked to last week told me that it was supposed to help with the lost fuel mileage and "some shifting conerns". I have a hesitation when shifting 1 to 2 at moderate to heavy accel. not full throttle and he said very quietly, "bring it in, this should help". He wouldn't talk about it in the office, he walked into the shop and nodded for me to follow and when I did, I got this info. I wonder why he wouldn't tell me around the comm. service manager? Well, in any case that's the info. I have and I am going late Monday or Tuesday to try this new flash. Hope it works for me as well as some others here.
