Before this flash I was only getting about 13-14 MPG, unloaded. That was from a crappy flash that I got in the beginning of Sept. Before that flash my stock flash was getting 16-18 MPG. I would love just to get back to where I was.

2003-2004 6.0 Water In Fuel Lamp Illuminated:
Some trucks may exhibit a water in fuel lamp that continues to illuminate after draining the water separator. This may be due to sedimate build up in the water reservoir. Check the electrical connections at the fuel pump assembly. Replace the fuel manifold with part # 3C3Z-9B249-AB. TSB# 04-9-2

Mine only did it on left hand turns as apposed to some that stay lit, however they replaced it anyhow. I should be finished with my tank tomorrow, I will post before and after figures, calculated of course...

Best of Luck,
Corey

I have an 04/04 4x4 CC with what I believe to be the original flash. The truck gets bad mileage and has a turbo lag. I was expecting this, but what if the new one could make it better. Should I ask the dealer to do it or stay away and leave it alone?

I would take it in, talk nice to the service manager and try to get them to look at changing the ICP sensor and flash it up.

I let them update mine when it was in for a tranny...The new flash isn't a huge difference, and I haven't paid close attention to my mileage, but it does seem to have somewhat more power.

Initial indicators are that I am now getting 16-16.5 city driving. I measured by filling to the same spot in the filler neck and dividing gallons into miles since last fillup. This was running totally stock with the EGR plugged in and the latest flash for me 3U7A-12A650-FTE. This included one run to show my tail pipe to a truck with "Hemi" written on it.

Preevious I was getting 14-15 city with Predator 65HP.

I think this flash is a keeper..

Or then maybe it is like keeping your guests waiting and hungry. Then they think anything will taste good.

Flash Mileage Update

As promised I finished my tank off today. Calculated I am right around 16.5mpg average for the tank. My pre-flash average was about 15.5mpg. SWEET!!! By the way, I have a substantially larger draft than some other folks, so my mileage is less than it could be.

Best of Luck,
Corey

Can't wait to tow my trailer this weekend for deer season and find out how much different the shifts are. Just turning on tow/haul empty sure proves there is a big difference in shifts. As always I'll update when I get back... Happy Hunting!

By the sounds of things people are getting better mileage, with no drop in performance, which is great, but

Does anyone know why?
What does this knew flash do?

I know it makes my truck behave like it did before the infamous Oct. 03 flash.

That's great news, more power, more throttle response, less turbo lag, better fuel mileage. What is there to consider? I'll be at the dealer Monday. Thanks for the info. SBV., Mat

I still haven't had to fill up since my truck was flashed on Monday but what I can say is that I have driven about 325 miles on just under 3/4 of a tank but I was a down about 3/8 of a tank when it was reflashed so I actually have no Idea what my milage is.
