I have been runnig a MSD system and a stock Ford Dzzy with the Crane cams adjustable advance kit in it. the kit comes with all you need to recurve your dizzy, to include a adjustable vacume advance unit. also the pick up in the MSD dizzy and the stock ford unit are the same. I used to work for Ford thats how I know. on the eratic power problem under load. do you have the heavy oil pump drive rod instaled? I have one in mine and it stoped the spark scater I was having at high RPM under load. the stock shaft will twist and then snap back. this stes up a slaping motion between the dizy drive teeth and the cam. that is a comon FE problem acording to the performance book I have. I am sorry to hear that you are having such bad luck with your MSD unit. so far mine is great. I have the MSD 6 box and the new epoxy potted Blaster coil. no problems so far. one last thing. and please don't think I am trying to be offensive. I just can't see how you have your MSD instaled. did you run 10 guage wire straight from the battery to the MSD box. if not this will cause the box to perform under par. and I also added a known good ground to the housing on the box. never can be to safe on the good ground thing. I fixed a lot of problems at ford because of a bad ground problem. good luck with your problem. I am just one of those old FORD only guys. I had a Chevy once. got tired of pushin it. been in a FORD ever since.
