FE446 power issue, MSD stuff.
I wonder what the tallest drag radial or ET street is. I know there is a 4X4 Ford (twin turbos on a Cummins the traitor) running 10s with slicks on all 4 corners.
Strokster, Your close, I love the smell of burning rubber and a screaming woman, then there's burning rubber a NITRO!!! Oh yes!! LOL!!
it didnt do to bad for 5200#s with me in it.. Half Tank of gas..89 octane..LOL!!
I have got to take all my spare tanks off, and the spare...the wife and I are taking our desk top..to the Docs..tomarrow...to get fixed..and I'll post the slips and what I brought home for brackets...
Until the desk top gets fixed..I'll keep yall guessin? I have been working off my Old Laptop for 4 mos. now, and I cant post stuff and pics like I use too..its 8 years old and not upgraded...

Dang I'm glad to hear this. What a relief. Now get out there and have some fun.

I'm afraid I'll have too much fun. And yes, that is possible when it results in flashing lights and legal issues. My wife is an attorney, she'll call the judge and make sure I get the max time!
Did I mention, this thing is scaring me? And I can tell that there is still room to grow with some tuning.
WOOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Right on Greg, Im sure that like everyone we have been waiting for this beast to wake up, I'm so pumped for you dude, I have been following your build since I joined FTE, I remember talking to my Dad I said "did you see that guy with the 446 stroker FE?" were both big FE nut's so watching this build and scouders come together has been alot of fun.
I should get some pics of the linkage, me and my brother-n-law did a nice job constructing it! No coat hangers here!
I'm off to do some more driving...I need to find out what drivetrain part is about to fall off.....
Anybody have any suggestions for traction help...like ladder bars?
I have been thinking about sending them back..I looked at competition engineerings ladder bars..and they look a little heavier duty...and a guy I know that runs them said when he goes to the track he gives em a turn and a half to tighten up..and when he's done, backs em off and has his Normal suspension...
I guess we need something longer for a long bed truck, right?

congrats on figuring out your problem. You have got to be feeling a heck of a lot better about that engine now. Makes all the $$ and effort worth it.
I know nothing about techniques for getting a truck to hook up but there is a guy that posts as Mayhem Bob on the network 54 site and I think he is running a very quick truck (in the 12s I think). I could have this wrong, but I think he and a bunch of those guys over there run Cal Tracs ladder bars and have had real good success with them. Maybe try searching that site for Cal Tracs.
Bob
I searched the network 54 site for traction stuff about Mayhem's truck and struck out. All the Cal-Tracs stuff seems to be about Jay Brown's Mach I. I must have gotten my information crossed up. I was right about Mayhem running some good times. He was running 12.3s with a 390 in his shortbed this year.

Well, I'm scared to drive mine :-) Seriously, I need to go to the track and put on the sticky tires to even begin to open this thing up. It makes a mess of the street tires. It will break both tires loose when I hit 2nd gear at 40mph. Then it feels a bit loose when it gets to breathing in 3rg gear...kind scary at about 70 mph.
I may have to throw some weight in the back, just to drive around town....I tstill needs some tuning, bit it's awful quick to me. I may get to the Dyno tomorrow t osee what it says. maybe the guys over there are bored and will give me a break on some dyno carb tuning :-)

My Thinking anyway!!

Does the wife wonder why you have a **** eating grin every time you get back from driving it, or are you all pale and sweaty, " Ford.... truck.. lots... power..."
