Did they reward you for your contribution peppy? or just pat you on the back.
Actually rewarded me. Gave me an unscheduled, substantial raise....even though I'm leaving in less than month. Oh, and a nice card from the president/owner, and a $25 card for Chilis.....even a menu inside.
I hope to be back......but if tonights conversation with my wife is any sign of the future, I aint comin back.
Like I told her once before.....
"Just cause you have em in a jar, gives you no right to take em out and wear em."

Umm..... good luck with that, peppy.
Oh, in case anyone's wondering, that test I had on Monday, for the police dispatcher job, went pretty well (I think). There were about 8 people there, including myself (one other male, rest were women.... I was the youngest there, too)
It wasn't too tough - what made it hard was the time restriction - some parts went so fast it just wasn't possible to answer all the questions. Plus, they deduct for wrong answers, like the SAT The hardest part was when they read off these strings of random letter/number combinations, that you had to pick out of a humongous list and circle which ones were read - they were usually 3-4 letter/number combos, but as they increased the speed, the tape was saying them so fast it sounded like one long string of numbers/letters.... real tough to distinguish - plus, the ones in each row of the list we picked from were all alike, as in pq1 lpc 1qp etc... so yes, that was pretty tough.
I think we hear about the results sometime next week, so I'll let y'all know, if you're interested.
Yea, for sure keep us posted. I'm interested. See'in how thats my line of work and all. I'm very interested in how you did, how you do, and how you like it. Its an interesting line of work......long stretches of boredom followed by short spurts of chaos. Its fun.
Where I work is very interesting......gonna real neat when Admin comes in....I'm very curious where my check is........
so much for direct deposit.
Ryan, I can say its been an odd ride.
Dispatching is a fun job. Events will sometimes get to you. Bad mojo on occassion.
When the days over, its over. One event at a time. No projects and stuff to concern you as you try and sleep. No worries about how things are going when your on vacation. Its a good deal. If your an actual state, county or city employee, you even get the sweet benefits.
