Nope I'm not asleep just beenlooking at real estate tonight (this morning).
I'm thinkng about buying a small house. I guess I'll ask for serious advice on here since I don't have nayone else to talk to. I wokred in a lumber yard for in high school, been on the farm all my life, and was a sheetmetal worker for three years. I am not looking for a glamorous place, I'm looking for a fixer upper that doesn't need super major work just mostly someone who knows how to do stuff themelves and has the time to do it. Looking through alocal real estate guide I found 40 acres for $72,000, all wooded and it's in flat AG farm country. It's about 15 miles north of where I grew up (all hills and cattle country) and roughly 20 mles or 1/2 hour to where I work. I've known the area it's in as it is part of my stomping ground and I have probably drove by it a dozen times, possibly hunted it a time or two or nearby. What do realtors usaully want down payment wise?
Ehh, for some reason, I just haven't felt the urge to post here much the alst few months. It's been fishing/boating season, so I guess most of my reading/posting ends up at one of those sites.
I'm a Systems Operator for a large IT Transaction Processing company. I'd go into more detail, but it usually starts a gripe fest when they find out the industry we service.
Mike W. : I do the same thing, rotate back and forth every three months. It can be tough. Some just acclamate to it easier than others. We have some folks here that end up taking vaca, calling in sick, showing up late, being completely ineffective at work, ect, due to the lag. It's constant problem, but at the same time, very few would be willing to stay on night shift permanently, nor would they be willing to give up the 15% differential to work strictly day shifts.
Me, I'm just gearing up to go back to days in a few weeks. No big deal to me, I hold a semi normal schedule on my days off, so it really doesn't throw me off balance as bad to switch. Then again, I still work an occasional day or night shift regardless of what end of the clock I'm on at the time, as needed.
That's the other reason a lot of our people hate working nights, they claim it's tough to have a life. When you have 7 out of 14 days off, how can you not have a life....???
OK, I'll shut up now. It's been a long couple of days, my brain is fried, and I'm ready for bed, and my long weekend. Leave at 6:45, hopefully home by 7:45, in bed by 8:30. Back up at Noon, and let the party begin. Here's to wasted weekends.
