Hey guys hows it going. If you look in my gallery you can see the system i made. Works good for me. Not saying you should do it this way but it might help you come up with some ideas of your own. Good luck!
the reason they dumped the cc vent back into the motor is because they had to tier 1 diesel emissions for light duty trucks...the oil mist is normal my ih 4300 w/ dt466 has the tube right under the motor and it puffs away, more when its under heavy load. you know that little part that they had in the intake ?? thats what im gonna run into my exaust with that check valve from moroso, soon as the intercooler goes in. wtf its snowing here, as of last night it wasnt even supposed to rain. tstorm and snow in southern ca hmmm
Barebackjake I see you found the kit from Simmit, I haven't had time to order mine. I thought I had some leftover parts from my racing days bit couldn't find them. After hunting season i'll get mine ordered. This system works great with there nipple design, I've used them before on an alcahol injected 406 ci Vega. 6.13 et. 103 mph. 1/8 mi.
Hi im new to the board, and i just got my 00 Ex 7.3PS two weeks ago and i was reading about the ccv mod, i don't know much about diesels but i did a ccv mod on my moded camaro and conected it to the exhaust with the check valve and my problem was that the exhaust flow sucked the oil from my crank case, i was loosing a lot of oil at high rpm
I ran an alcohol injected 406 with the same type CCV with no problem. I also have done the same mod on my PSD with no problem. If the vent tube is in the valve cover without the proper breather element it will suck the oil out. The vent in the top of the valve cover of the PSD will allow it to vent vapor not liquid if the rest of the system is correct. Summit Racing offers the correct nipple and valve to install the vent into the exhaust.
