Well, Neva and I took Ben and Liz (Navy couple) to Sconyers this past Saturday. We ordered one 'Plantation Platter' for Neva and them to split up, and I had the turkey plate. When we ordered, Ben and Liz both wondered out loud if that would be enough food, we assured them it would be. So, after making complete pigs of ourselves, they were able to take enough leftovers home for Sunday dinner. By the way, they LOVED the hash-and-rice, not to mention everything else!

P.S. Our next outing will be for some fish-camp-style seafood...
Neva had a meeting in Conyers Saturday, and we decided to 'ramble' our way over Sharpsburg (Spent the night there with my retired preacher friend) and ended up having lunch right outside the gate of Ft. Gillam called Bullock's. The pulled pork was good, as was the Brunswick stew and cole slaw. By the way, so that I won't have to re-read every post in this thread, how about a new, updated (Hopefully in alphabetical order!) list? I know I've seen the list, just do not remember which page it's on...
Sure enuff, try this...
Start a pork tenderloin as usual,( holler @ me if ya don't remember) then after restin'
set it in a bit of orange juice, no pulp, for 5 min, then flip and let rest a few min.
EAT!!
Neva and I are driving up to the Atlanta area Saturday and need directions to Harold's near Jonesboro. We will be driving I-20 west, I-285 west then on to the Tyrone/Sharpsburg area on I-85 south, exit number 56. She absolutely LOVES Brunswick stew and I want her get one of their 'mega-bowls'...
Well, treat me like a red-headed stepchild...Had no problems finding Harold's in Jonesboro. Neva had the 'Mega-Stew' and I got the combo plate (Ribs, beef and sliced pork with slaw, stew and cracklin' cornbread). Neva says the ribs were super-good (She ate them all.) and the stew was every bit as good as I had remembered. Next time, we'll try the original location downtown.
