Talked to Mr. Ray this p.m., he will be attendin' our lessons in forgettfulness class this Feb and hopefully bring one of his classics.
I also got a cat from way back that may show up, I have never worked with him but these Gearhead meetin's have made news since last time.
This cat actually owned a real gas station and garage back in the day in Athens.
I can promise lotsa good stories if he shows up..
Just FYI- I have been drivin' a 97 7.3L auto utility body that has 265k miles and she still scoots! Gettin' back in the blue goose will feel like I may have to get out and push to get her up the road..
Saturday evening, on the way back from Macon, the wife and I ate at the Old Clinton BBQ in Gray, Georgia. She had big bowl of Brunswick stew and I had a chipped pork sandwich. The stew was decent, the sandwich excellent! Also, although I know it's not BBQ, I had two all-the-way hot dogs (Chili sauce, mustard and onions) at NuWay Weiners' original location on Cotton Avenue for lunch. This place is featured as one of the best hot dog places in the country on a food network T.V. special and, I have to admit, they serve a mean 'dog!
Johnny,
Thanks for the info- I hope to do nuway one day. We did see it on foodtv and pray that one day our huge BBQ bus ( once built ) can get to all the good joints..
Don't forget our next meat n' greet, Feb. 18- 20 .
