I am pretty sure that the 73-79 bumper will work on our style of trucks. I think the front frame, where it bolts to is identical and if not it probably wouldn't take to much fab work to make it work. I have never done this personally but by looking at the winch bumper on a friends 78 f150, the mounting points look like it will work. If all else fails save the money that you would spend on a bumper, buy a welder, and make your own your way.

Goodold71-- As Moses stated the 73-79 will work on our trucks.
Front bumper style didn't change until 1980.

I'd swear that the 73-79 bumpers have a different shape. I say this because I was searching for bumper guards for my 71 and noticed that the contour was different. I guess the mounting brackets are the same width?

We didn't say that the bumpers were the same, we said that a winch bumper from a 73-79 will bolt up to the 67-72 frame. This, in no way, is talking about the factory ford bumpers. AFTERMARKET WINCH BUMPER. Had we been talking about factory bumpers, you would be correct, they are shaped differently.

A friend has a 73-79 warn bumper on his 67 f250 4x4. It looked a little flimsey to me so I built mine out of 1/2" plate and slung a 20K lb garwood winch in the middle. As backwoods as my bumper sounds, I did have all the parts laser cut and it looks and works a hell of alot better than the warn unit. He can't even use a hi lift on the warn without it bending.
