Hello all...I am Michael Brainard...I live in Manson, Iowa just west of Fort Dodge...I have a 1969 f100...DOT orange that I intend to start working on this fall. So far, I have been content dragging my 2004 Baja 202 all over the country with it...been far to busy boating to work on the old girl. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, right? Anyway..

Hey Cory...I grew up in Monona...graduated from HS in 1990. Small world, eh?
No Hawk VS. Clone war here. Everyone just cheer on the Bulldogs!
For what you pay to go to ONE game in Ames or IC , you can get a season ticket ($50 for 7 games)for DU , and see , hear and feel the cannon go off as I tailgate inside Drake stadium during the games this fall!

I can't say I ever recall a winning football season either....Maybe I should have played!
Although shortly after I graduated, Monona's own Rafe LaFrenz sure made Monona shine for a while. How is Good 'ol Ron LaFrenz doing anyway? ( the best shop teacher and BS'er in the state ) Last I knew, he had a Ford pickup... I suppose he is driving a Lexus or a H2 now...
I am planning a trip back to Monona sometime in Mid Sept....my mother has instructed me to bring the truck and "get some of this crap out of my garage".... Sure mother..tiller, thanks....lawn mower, no problem.... 15 sheets of plywood, it will fit.... I love it when mom desides to clean out all the crap that dad thinks he needs to keep.
Ron retired a few years go. hes still running around. now he drives a Chevy Silverado 1500. nice truck he takes care of it pretty good from what i can tell atleast. was Doug Martin teaching there when you were here? i think he has taken up all the slack left from when ron retired. doug will sit there and start rumors just to keep himself entertained. its quite funny. this is quite interesting as there are 2 H2s running around monona. both school bus yellow. me and some other people call them the short bus. lol the times that rafe ever comes home he is usually driving a Licoln Navigator or a H2. although last time he was home i think he was driving an Escalde

Martin has taught there for a long time. He taught AG and some coaching when I was in HS... but I never had him as an instructor. Just Ron and Ozzy Gettler (spelling?) ( another great guy )
Martin got me kicked out of the lunch room for starting a food fight my junior year...a food fight I DIDN'T start or partake in. Pi$$ed me off. Oh well. I never did care a great deal for him :P Here is to you Doug!
Ron had gotten a hold of an old siren off a 50's or 60's fire engine..God only knows where he got it... Ron wasn't very fond of the school administration at the time...so Ron and the entire class snuck from the shop over to the superintendants office window, with the siren and a 12v battery....and fired it up and we all ran like heck back to the shop. the entire office came running outs side to see what the rucus was all about. Typical Ron LaFrenz...always out to have a good laugh and rile someone up Gotta love that guy.

yea the guy that replaced him is all good but hes one of them people you need to keep happy to be able to get along with. did you ever take any classes with Mr. Romelton? oh and don't know if you knew this or not but we now have a Functioning track that you can actually USE. one that doesnt require mowing. a kid that ither graduated with you or a year after you, Chet Bachman. do ya know him? he is now the head wrestling coach. does a stand up job too. sent 3 boys to state last year. gonna send at least that many this year with all of them brining back medals.
