U of I because of location, I can't afford to live out to Ames with the family back in Marengo, but I can live in Marengo and go to school in Ia City easily. Uof I seems to have a good program as well, not that ISU doesn't. Besides, I have done my time living in apartments, and if I have anything to say about it, it won't happen again, city life just is not for me. I'm also not going to be going hardcore, enough to qualify for the financial assitance, but not so hard that my life is consumed by it. I like being home every night, being able to work on my vehicles as I see fit, and not having to be gone away from that. Drove me nuts going to tech school in the Chicago area living in apartments, and not being able to do anything. Country boy through and through, and not going back to city life unless it is absolutely necessary.

well i thought about going to isu for electrical engineering. have a cousin that works at rockwell some big wig telling me to that. well after spending 6 years looking at electronic circuitry i said enough with that but it is always a back up. right now i am leaning toward finances. seems to be a good amount of business there i.e. accounting or financial analysis. i don't know yet.

about giving up the country well did that for 6 years form chitown to san diego to jacksonville, fl. got to have the country just miss it plus my vehicles where neglected all that time too. now i can work on them and treat them right. i will agree with going back to city life couldn't stand it myself.....

Well, I seem predisosed to mechanical engineering, so I figure I might as well go with it. I haven't gotten away from mechanical type work, and do a lot of my own fabricating and "engineering" of my own, so might as well see if I can make some money at it. Can't be any worse than what is doing it now, at least I have an undertanding of the real world, not "it works on paper" type garbage...

My name is Craig, I live in Wapello (30 min N of Burlington). I'm originally from the Des Moines area, moved down here 13 years ago. Just last week I went to Michigan to pick up my 2004 F250 C/C SB V10 2wd which is replacing my 1993 Explorer that was too small for 3 growing kids (and has seen better days). I also have a 1989 Mustang 5.0/5 speed hatchback. I've owned a 1973 F150 (or was it F100? -too long ago), a 1975 Mustang II, a 1978 F250 S/C, a 1985 Ranger, a 1988 F150, a 1989 F150 and a 1958 Edsel in my lifetime. The blue oval rocks and I love my Super Duty!

I am ashamed to admit that I have also owned a 1976 Corvette and a 1989 Toyota 4x4, but I was young and dumb and will not go back to the dark side again!

Hey everybody, my name is Tyler but most everybody calls me Swailes, live here in Mount Pleasant(S.E Iowa), had a '78 F-250 4x4 w/ the 300 I6 and manual tranny, but grandad decided it'd make him more money at the scrap yard than it would sittin on the farm(cant argue the logic) and took it out there a couple of years ago when scrap skyrocketed, so i dont actually have a ford at the moment, but i'd love to find one with the same set-up, or at least the motor to tinker with till i get the funds to build something, anyhow, right now i've got a '95 GMC K2500 and a '88 GMC K1500. For the record i love both Ford and GM trucks, so feel free to flame away Now we'll just see 'bout gettin to a meetin er two.

-Swailes

He didn't say anything about your crank. He was trying to explain something to me and was using yours as an example of size. He just mentioned that you had dropped it off. Normally I wouldn't have noticed but I had just read your name on here earlier that day.

God. I just read that and it sounds dirty but I promise it isn't. I guess my gallery is gone. I have an 04 White F350 Regular cab with a 6" tip on the exhaust. I no longer live in town but do work there. Don't think there are any of the pull truck. You can see that if you click this linky...
