Have you seen a Vette lately? Hardly what I'd call luxury. What is the Vette supposed to be? They've always been one of the top performing sports cars and have always been priced higher than the average car. When you compare the Vette to other cars with similar performance, it is actually one of, if not the, best performance bargain available. Comparing it to a Mustang GT is just silly considering the huge difference in performance between the two. I hardly consider $45,000-$50,000 to be priced out of site when SUV's and pick up trucks are selling for the same money. If the Vette is in fact so over priced, why does Chevy sell over 30,000 each year?

Interestingly enough, this is the Ford vs. The Competition forum and the original topic of the thread was specifically about a Chevy.

Now, it's O.K. when the supermoderators get off topic:

never was, never will be....

relics of car shows... thats about it... plus they are ugly as all get out....

But when it happens to be something they don't agree with or don't want to hear, we're the ones who have to go to a different site? Double standard if you ask me.

Yup, but then you'd be incorrect.

It's like saying you could call Moby Dick a minnow.....you could do it but you'd be wrong.

The mustang has never been a GREAT car, ever. It offers small time perfomance in a psudo-sports car frame. In fact the majority of buyers for the Mustang are women who like the look, and dont even consider the performance. If you like the way it looks...or just like the car....more power to you. But dont dare call it a SPORTS car....because its not.

I didn't tell you to go to a different site, this is Ford Trucks forum, this Chevy SS thread is allowed because at least its a truck, and with some modifications it could be compared to the lightning.

The hundreds of other stray topics, from corvettes, to mustangs, to specific engines that haven't been made for nearly 40 years now. thats what I don't like, a lot of threads in this forum rarely stay on topic. and you end up arguing about the same things over and over again.

another thing, I'm not a supermoderator.

There is no double standard here, you don't see me bragging up chevies (ewww) and then telling you not to do it, in fact, you won't ever see me brag about anything chevrolet has produced. I'd brag about the Ford Pinto before I bragged about a chevy. Please don't ever accuse me of presenting a double standard.

That is what you call BLIND BRAND LOYALTY.

I love my Ford truck. Ford makes the best trucks in my opinion, however their cars leave somthing to be desired. Their cars have never been great, they always have problems...and thus started the Found On Road Dead rumor. If Ford cared half as much for their cars as they did their trucks they could produce some really sweet cars, but that is just not Fords priority. So go ahead and brag about the Pinto..............................

Im with you Mattbox all the way. Hey super whats wrong with Ford cars. Ive had several. Mydad thats all he ever had. Not one problem in all those years. These newer GM cars are just junk in my opinion. Ive seen more GM cars dead on the road than Fords. GM cars spells problematic to me just like there trucks.

When you have that "Moderator" tag under your name suggestions can seem like orders (still do). What was the purpose of your remark? I was still talking about chevy trucks. Were you just trying to be rude?

My father used to work for Ford at an assembly plant....I know firsthand the quality that goes into their cars is lacking. GM is the king of cars, theres no disputing it, however they lack the focus to make a decent truck.

As far as problems with Ford cars.....gee I dont know.....gas tanks that blow up, transmissions that die after about 40,000 miles....My co-worker has a mustang Gt that has the the transmission go out 3 different times in 4 years. My mother in law had a Ford Taurus that was in the shop more than it was in the garage, her transmission went south twice in 50,000 miles.

Like I said Ford trucks are King, I had a F-150 with 170,000 miles, narry a problem....my father in law has a ranger with 280,000 miles and no problems.

Having blind loyalty devoids you from having an open minded discussion, being you would have less credit in your statements as we all know you are prejudiced now.

Well for any of you interested I've found some info on it. It's GMC Sierra's performance package. Here are some pictures including one of the window sticker:

http://www.grovestreet.com/jsp/picview.jsp?album=52946

You can read the sticker if you click it again. I assume 6.0 HO means the 345 horse version.

/wonders how many unnecessary "chevy sucks" posts this will generate
