im gonna stack an edge with my SCMT, running the water to keep it cool and propane for good measure, as soon as i get some more money. Its just a matter of time before it goes sky-high through the hood, but ill worry about it then. thatll give me an excuse to get the twin turbo motor. should be fun in the meantime.
Guess i better get some gauges before i do that, huh?
By the way, Bob, did you see any drop in EGT's with your FIPK?

My EGT probe is on the down pipe so my FIPK dropped the temp 50 to 75 drg.
That makes sense...that is why Ken at DPS told me not to run propane or doublestacked chips with a high percent mixture of alchohol in the system. Very straightforward explanation we have been looking for here. Thank you very much. Any danger of running TOO high cylinder pressure if burning only at a moderate level?
i really doubt we can get the pressure too high. our stock injector tips can only flow so much and the boost from a stock turbo will only go up so far.
before we start stacking boxes to get even more fuel, i think the best thing is to get the proper amount of air in there to burn what we got.
when a cheatin farmer comes to me and asks 4 more fuel, i make him put on an egt and then show him he needs a turbo FIRST. black smoke is wasted power.
our turbo is a pretty slick design tho and i wonder just how much it will put out. will it still b efficient at 40psi? if not it will just b dumpin in gobs of heat! not what we want.
also, and i may be wrong, but i think too much injection pressure may crack the soleoids on the HEUI injectors????
I don't expect to get that wild. We are fortunate that the Tractor guys have been doing all this stuff for years.
Another thing, our drivelines are very strong, being designed to pull maximum GVW loads. The engineers always overdesign by a factor of 1.5 so we should be safe as far as we can take these trucks with stock injectors. Also another limiting factor is tracton.
We should be safe as long as we are educate ourselves to understand the pitfalls in all that we are doing.
My goal is to get my truck to run with the lightnings at the Fun Ford events.
