There was a person on the Forum the other day that said the new auto tranny is good for 1200 ft lb of torque in an empty truck.

I would be concerned if i ever towed anything, however i dont. The heaviest load the thing ever carries is me, my gf, a couple of my friends and the pistols and shotguns to the shooting range. To be honest ive never even driven a trailer. The closet thing to it was hauling my truck on the rollback after i blew it up. Thats a real pleasure, boy do you know you have a load when that thing is hanging on the back, up that high....

You could never use more than 800 or 900 ft pounds with that kind of load without breaking something.

This transmission is supposed to be very strong. So far I don't recall hearing of one failing. The transmission was the weak point of earlier Fords.

The Predator has improved shifting which is increased pressure for holding the plates and clutches. By the way there are no bands in this transmission. It even has an external screw on filter so you don't have to take the pan off to service it.

The stock 6.0 has 500+ ft pounds of torque. I don't think it's a reach to speculate that the transmission is engineered to handle 50% more. If you add the predator tweeking....

These transmissions are in a lot of school buses, UPS trucks, Box vans ect. and appear to be holding up well. I'll ask a friend of mine who runs a maintenance shop for a large school district how they are holding up.

Ive been really bored today, so i went to box up my alky kit since i wont be using it again until i get a motor thats not stock. Well, i happened to be looking over the kit carefully and noticed a brass plug right beside the tee coming from the pump to the two solenoids. After playing around i discovered it happened to be another output portWent to home depot, picked up some NPT fittings and broke it into 4 ports. Just ordered two solenoids from McMaster Carr, and im gonna call Ken E. today for another switch box to match the one already there and the extra relays, nozzles, JIC elbows and boost pressure switches. Now as soon as i get a sturdier motor in the truck, Ill have a full blown 4 stage meth system. Boredom is dangerous.

I wonder if you really learned anything!

Won't you have to have 4 pressure regulators so you won't have a pressure drop every time another stage comes on?
