The problem I have with comparing them, you are comparing apples to oranges.
The oil itself does not go through the same stresses in both engines.
Each operating system is very different in design and pressures, even flow rates.
The discussions on the other sites also mention the relationship between the high pressure system and shearing.
I'm with you, 5000 miles is my mark where I change my oil. There appears to be no problem before then.
Unless you are one of those who have a toilet paper roll filter system and try to stretch the life of the oil to save every penny, you should have no problem.
Should I ever retire and have the time to fiddle with stuff like this, maybe I will think about this more. Right now my brain is crowded enough,,,my head hurts. I got to go get a new dip stick.

Its not my comparison. Someone asked if other engines do this to their oil. From the data of the 7.3, it clearly shows it does not.
Jeff, Ive noticed you started posting there recently. This is the exact reason I don't limit my information source to just one site. You never know what you can learn if you don't look.
I'm glad I have got you guys to gather information from other sites. I just don't have the time.
I am learning to type faster and use more than one finger.
Just a reminder to all, Rotella T does not have anti-foaming agents. It is extremely important that the oil has these. One little tid bit of information for everyone. The motorcraft oil is the same oil as Pennzoil LONGLIFE 15w40. Pennzoil bottles all of Motorcrafts oils. Just like Valvoline bottles all NAPA Auto Parts oil, and like Havoline bottles for Advance Auto Parts.
Not so . Every one of the Motorcraft oils are made by Conoco/Phillips and are some very good oils that sleep quietly while others brag .
Fish to toilet plungers? I guess I don't understand what your getting at. The 7.3 and 6.0 are two diesel engines made by the same company, use the same injection system (HUEI) and are used in the same applications. Its believed the oil shearing is happening in the high pressure oil system which both the 7.3 and 6.0 have. So I think its about the best comparison you could get. More like comparing brook trout to brown trout.

and to continue your thought, PSD6litre40 is also incorrect about Rotella T synthetic, we just came of a LONG discussion about oils where we were convinced that Rotella T synthetic meets all Ford requirments even though some old in stock bottles indicate that it doesn't have the antifoaming agents. It does now.
OBTW, just changed my Delvac 15w40 that they had put in at Kwik Kar when I asked for Delvac 1....
FYI @ about 2900 miles developed a stumbling idle --- worried about "OH, NO, fuel in oil" --- but changed out the oil and no more stumble !!!!
Will NEVER use Kwik Kar or Delvac 15w40 again :-) JMHO - YRMV

I'll bet a 1/2 quart overfill of that would be worth 12 HP!
O-yea............don't you know this weekend is going to be slow on FTE
You are probably right. There were more people stirring around this afternoon on the streets than I have ever seen on a Friday. Like they were getting ready to go somewhere. Almost as busy as a Saturday
