My build date is 11/02. Yes it is one of the very first 6.0's. Twelve thousand miles and only back to the dealer for the oil changes that were part of the original deal. Twenty hwy. miles per gallon. Twelve towing a 31 foot fifth wheel. Great truck!

and what all they do @ 30K ?

They did the following for 30,000 service:

1) Oil and filter change - $80.00

2) Tranny Service (flush system and external filter change) - $190.00

3) Air filter change - $89.95

4) Fuel filters (both) - $119.00

5) Alignment (I chose to do it) - $71.00

(Transmission service is way over priced, and I think I can do better elsewhere or at another dealership. They did not want to do a flush, but I think another dealership here in KC will have a better price next time)

Thanks,

Jeff

Build date 03/04, 3300 miles on truck. No problems at all. I have been out camping for three weeks since I bought this truck. Seen a lot of PSD ford trucks out there towing big trailers. Not one owner looked mad or disappointed. I have been getting 12 to 13 mpg city driving and 11 mpg towing a 22' travel trailer. I will have to take get this trailer weighed one day. I think it might be about 4500 to 5000 lbs.

Lots of bad comments floating on the web but I'm going to buy a F-350 with 6.0 PSD today and expect to be able to add to the GOOD COMMENTS here. I shopped Ford, Chevy, Dodge for 2 weeks and the h.p. and torque available seem pretty close. I've had many construction vehicles and Ford has always been good for me. I talked to my trusted fleet service advisor and he commented that inspite of all the problems in early production NONE WERE STRUCTURAL FAILURES. The space in the club cab is one of my decission making points as well as the Ford name.

14,000 on '03, no problems

Every time I drive the truck I am still in awe of its power.
Average between 17-19 MGP (mixed driving with AC on), average 75-80MPH.

Just did second oil change. Advance Auto is finally carrying oil filters, $15 for Purilator, $9 for Ford. Need to get fuel filters and change those too.

Going to the the new FLASH and then disconnect EGR just for kicks.

My other vehicles are a 250 HP Aurora and a heavily modified ??HP '93 'stang. I'd rather drive the F250 any day of the week.

See my signature for truck details....

I am one of the few that are a purest in pulling, I never drive my truck except to pull...and truly enjoy the task of towing...why I can remember when we all used to have 454 Chevys with a Q-jet on them and......well you all remember those days, You could not fit a big enough tank in them their trucks to get across the street

I know that some say the 6.0 does not compare to the others makes down in the basement...however, I never drive down the interstate..just off of idle....the 6.0 is a towing dream at 65 to 84 mph...IMO what it was designed for..

The old 7.3 looked great against the competition in the 1600 rpm torque but the 6.0's 2000 rpm torque rating is acceptable. All the industrial diesels I've been around are designed to run around 2000 to 2200 and run there for ever. My 96 Dodge 3500 Cumming 12 valve won't pull below 2000 rpm. SO WHATS THE PROBLEM! They're all set up to run highway speeds at or above 2000.... and where do they all shift.... not at 1600!

My truck probably doesn't technically qualify since my rear main and my center driveshaft bearing were both replaced, but I have 34,000 miles on my 01/03 6.0, and it runs like an ape and pulls like a train. I still have pilot injection. Every Blackstone report I have comes back with glowing results and I love my truck. I have yet to hook up to anything I can't pull with ease. No moan/drone and Jeff, your dealer's cost was a little high, my tranny service was about $130.

Did you do the dealer thing for the tranny service?
That is one I do not want to do myself
