Introductions.
Not sure why it took me so long to join, been a member of 48-60 group for about a year. Currenty living outside of Great Falls, where we use a log chain for a wind sock..... Grew up splitting time between the family farm in Big Sandy MT and our ranch in Glendive, MT. I'm restoring a 1951 F1 that my Grandpa bought new and put 40,000 miles on. Keeping the flathead, and mostly original except for MII IFS, I wanted good handling and brakes. Looking hard for a S10 T5 tranny, any lead would be great.
Sorry about your loss, twolf. Hope the holidays went OK for you and your family.

My daughter went to the Deaf and Blond, I mean Blind school in G Falls. I understand the log chain joke. I had to do some work out at the AF Base and had my ext ladder tied down and it still was trying to blow away. She's down with the school now and has moved back home and I'm not working anymore. So It will be awhile before getting back that way. Still want to get up there and hunt the Ulm area. I heard that the white tail are great.
Keep us informed on the truck as it goes. It would be nice to see.
Again, thanks,
Tom
Take care Gary. May swing over that way again some time. See if I can't look you up.
Tom
I agree with you on the family thing, I just got married and we plan to have kids, so am looking forward to hunting and fishing with them as they grow up. I'm only 32, but it's funny how priorities slowly start to shift.....

I'm Ken, I live out of Belgrade, MT. I'm 44 and this has been home to me all my life except the 2 1/2 years in Germany. (Dco 1/11 Armored Cav) I also grew up in a gas station, High School Texaco on 11th & Main in Bozeman. I started running the gas station in Belgrade for my Dad when I was 14. A lady asked me to change a thermostat in her car and I've been a professional mechanic ever since. I guess you could say that I never decided to do anything else. I worked on tanks in the army. Now I work on Ag Equipment for New Holland.
The only vehicle that is not a Ford in our family is my sons 54 Plymouth Plaza. My daily driver and everything else truck is the Titanic, a 1978 F150 FT 4X4. The truck is so named because of a Hunting incident years ago that involved striking a rock (iceberg size) and it sank. Broke the front axle in half and smashed a big hole in the T case. And we didn't even get an elk that day. My wifes ride is a 1992 Ford explorer. Only two kids left in the house now, the boy drives a 74 F250 highboy and the girl drives a 73 F250 4X2. there is also a 54 Ford Ranchwagon in the shop under construction. I'm right now building a new 400 for the Titanic to replace an aging 351M. that is actually what got me to FTE in the first place because my internet searches for 400 parts ( like pistons)
We do all the hunting we can possibly get away with. All 4 of us are Hunter Education instructors with Region 3. Fall session this year we did back to back sessions in Belgrade and then Bozeman.
Hope to talk to you soon
good to hear that. I bow hunted many season before I ran into a huge work wall. Been out of it 3 seasons now and I need to get back. Elk are Elk and that is what many people hunt but there is no better challenge than a riverbottem whitie
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
Hey ... make sure to click the "join" link on the outside of the drifters forum.
I have always been a Ford fan and always owned Ford products. The first vehicle I learned to drive on was a '69 Ford Bronco with three on the tree My fathers pride and joy.
Sense then I have owned an '84 Bronco II, 2 '78 Bronco's, and 1 '76 F-150. Currently I am in the market for a '94-'97 Aerostar EXT AWD (my wife is expecting our 3rd child, so it is minivan time
) so I have been hanging aroung these boards trying to get as much information as I can before buying (so any help would be greatly appreciated.)In my spare time I like to hunt, fish, camp, Shoot trap, and work on my '93 Ford Taurus SHO. (which tends to be a pain in the butt sometimes.) I have been wrenching on Fords for about 17 years and I am quite familiar with common problems and easy fix's.
My first encounter with ford's was with my dad's 49, it was a cool car and always would start no matter what temperature. I am a native Montanan
growing up in Great Falls and in the surrounding area. My philosopy is that if it's not a blue oval it ain't worth it unless it is a classic muscle car. I am a miltary person, being 10 years active duty Navy, and presently work for the
Mont. Air Guard. If you travel around the state in the summer I am the one hauling a F-16 on a lowboy trailer to various events, fairs etc. I have owned
or presently own the following:
74 Grand Torino Elite
68 F-250 4x2 Camper Special
70 Maverick
76 F150 4x4 390 v-8
92 Ford Ranger (ex wife still has-300k and still going)
90 F250 HD /81 Mercury Zephyr
95 F250 HD
93 Taurus
99 Taurus
99 Expedition (wife's veh.)
00 F250 SD V-10 (presently own)
89 Ford Ranger (commuter vehicle) -Sorry so long, ALSO a serious hunter, fisherman, and love any thing that has to do with Ford products good and bad.
