Came out this morning and went to unlock the 18 f250, both front windows were all the way open. Still locked. I’m confused as to what could have caused this.
Last used the truck on Monday afternoon, and under no circumstances would the windows have been left all the way down. is there something on the remote fob that could have done this? I had the keys in my pocket while raking snow off the roof yesterday.
I know my VWs and Audis would roll the windows down if I pressed twice and held the unlock button. Child lockout button was on for the back windows, if that helps add any context.
Glad we didn’t get that freezing rain they were calling for. Had mail on the seat.
I agree with Don, IIRC Super Duties since '17 have had the feature of 'press 2x then hold unlock' to roll down the front windows. I believe it ONLY works on the front windows. You may have accidentally pressed the combination prior to locking it.
Our Bronco also has the feature. My wife's 2024 Expedition, however, does NOT do it. We have tried many times and cannot make it do it.
It seen like everytime I sit down in my recliner the alarm goes off on my 2020 f250. It could be just the way you are sitting, how the keys are arranged in your pocket. I had to take my key out and put them on a dish near the back door, which we use most often. That solved the alarm problem.
Likely pressed the fob in your pocket however I had a non ford vehicle in the past with push to start roll all four windows down while I was in a client's office. Lucky me it was snowing so the interior was a real mess when I walked outside. That particular vehicle had a bad solenoid in it and one of the quirks was the windows rolling down on their own as well as the vehicle constantly in the approach mode as if the key was nearby so it drained the batteries before I could get it to the dealership and it had to be towed. All of that transpired over a 2 hour period of time. There was never any issues prior to or after the solenoid was replaced. Crazy stuff with electronics. I only mention that as something to be mindful of going forward.
On my 2017 F250 XL with Power Equipment Group option it will automatically put the windows down if leaning on the remote while unloading items from the truck parked in the garage. First time this happened I thought what the heck was going on. I did a quick search and found a video on YouTube where it spoke about this. Now I’m real careful with the remote.
