2017 F250 and had this happen last night. I went and grabbed dinner from a drive thru late, got home, secured the truck in the driveway and thought nothing further of it. This morning, I get a call from the neighbor asking if I had been out to my truck this morning or if I was missing a window? WTH??? I go down to my truck and look and the glass is there, but the window is rolled all the way down on the drivers door and halfway down on the passenger side. I know this wasn't like this when I went to bed last night cuz after having the truck broken into 3 times in 18 months, I make sure it's locked. I went out with paper towels and started wiping all the water out of the seats, door panels, speaker grilles, etc to clean it up. I even had water on the center console!!! We had some pretty severe thunderstorms blow through last night, but would that have caused the windows to roll down on their own? Wondering if there is a different underlying issue here. I've noticed the the auto up/down on the drivers window doesn't always work and wonder if I'm having a Driver's Door Module going bad. Anybody experience anything like this before? Did you get it fixed and if so, how?
My truck has a feature that will roll the windows down or up using the fob, holding down on the lock button.
Could your fob have been jammed in a pocket or something else?
How to Activate Global-Open Windows
Opening Windows – This secret function is surprisingly easy to use. Simply press and hold the unlock button on your key fob for at least 3 seconds, and your vehicle should do the rest. The feature will even vent your moonroof if one is equipped.
Stopping Windows – Ok, so leaving your vehicle agape and unattended may not seem like such a great ideal. Luckily, the system allows you to open your windows part way. Just activate the feature as normal, then press the lock or unlock button at any time as they’re opening to stop them in their place.
Closing Windows – Change your mind about opening all those windows? No problem! Closing them back up is just as easy. Just press and hold the lock button for at least 2 seconds and watch as all windows slide back into their original position. This clever function can be particularly useful for sealing open windows in sudden bouts of rain without having to brave the elements yourself.
I know about the auto up and down feature, but this happened overnight when I was asleep. Not sure what is going on with it, but as I was cleaning all the rainwater out of my truck, I tried the auto up/down with the door switches and they worked fine today. Not sure what's going on, but hopefully things will be working correct when everything dries out again. I'll just have to see how bad the water damage is from all of this.
Thanks for the info, but I don't think that's the case on this.
I would disable the feature in the settings or with Forscan and change all my fob batteries as some sort of blind precaution/guess/make me feel like I did something... Heard of this before with Fords and never a concrete solution or cause.
Now that this has happened and my seats and carpet got wet, besides vacuuming the water out and letting it air dry when it's safe to leave the windows open, anyone have a good remedy for getting rid of the musty odor that's starting to come up? I don't want to have to replace the carpet or seats foam and I hope I don't have to. I just want to get it dried out and aired out good and hopefully that will take care of the odor.

Thanks for any suggestions.
I've had good success in the past with sprinkling baking soda on the carpet, letting it sit awhile, and the vacuuming it up. There are other carpet cleaning products that have similar powder that you vacuum up, but they typically are scented. This would also work on cloth seats, but doubt it would do anything for leather seats.
Worst case, you could have a Stanley Steamer type company steam clean the upholstery if typical DIY methods don't work.
I’ve never been able to get them back up using the fob. I get them down but back up never works
It's a "down only" feature. Your truck is not broken, it's made that way. It's meant to allow you to roll down the windows on a really hot day as you are still some distance from the truck. It would be nice if they did roll up when a thunderstorm pops up wouldn't it?

Wow, that seems like a good patent. If they can have rain sensing wipers, why not rain sensing windows? A sensor could trigger the windows to close when it starts raining, whether the truck was running or parked.
What he said ^^^. Global window close is a popular option to enable using ForScan. It doesn't come enabled from the factory. It was one of the first changes I enabled on my '19.
